Monthly Stipend

• Graduate Apprentices (Engineering & Non-Engineering): ₹12,300/- per month
• Diploma in Engineering (Technician) Apprentices: ₹10,900/- per month
• This is a training stipend under the Apprenticeship Act — it does not include additional allowances (DA/HRA) applicable to regular employees

Note: TNSTC Salem does not have Non-Engineering Graduate slots in this cycle. All the TNSTC Corporations, MTC, and SETC reserve the right to increase or decrease the number of training slots notified above, at their discretion.

Eligibility Criteria — Category-Wise

• Category I (Graduate Apprentices): A Degree in Engineering/Technology (Regular, Full-Time) with First Class, from a Statutory University or an institution empowered to grant such a degree by an Act of Parliament, in the relevant discipline; or an equivalent Professional body examination recognized by the State/Central Government
• Category II (Technician/Diploma Apprentices): A Diploma in Engineering/Technology (Regular, Full-Time) from a State Council/Board of Technical Education, a University, or an institution recognized by the State/Central Government as equivalent
• Category III (Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices): A Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce/Humanities (BA/B.Sc./B.Com/BBA/BBM/BCA, etc.), Regular Full-Time, from a UGC-approved Statutory/Deemed University
• Candidates must have passed during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or May 2026, and must be a resident of Tamil Nadu
• Age: As per Apprenticeship Rules (no specific age figure stated in the notification — governed by the standard Apprenticeship Rules 1992 framework)
• Physical Standards: As prescribed under Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules 1992 and amendments thereof

Who is NOT Eligible

• Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1973

Reservation of Training Slots

• Reservation guidelines under the Apprentices Act for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwD categories will be followed
• Candidates claiming reservation under these categories MUST provide a valid certificate in the Government standard format — failing which, their claim will be treated as General category only
• BC/MBC candidates claiming OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) benefit must produce a valid OBC(NCL) certificate in the approved format from the competent certificate-issuing authority

Selection Procedure

• The Board of Apprenticeship Training (Southern Region — BOAT SR) is responsible for preparing the shortlist from the online application data
• Shortlisting is based purely on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification relevant to the discipline applied — there is no written exam or interview
• Shortlisted candidates will be intimated via their registered Email ID
• Shortlisted candidates must then appear for Certificate Verification at the TNSTC Trichy Region office
• Crucial tip: Entering your percentage of marks (or CGPA×10) correctly in the NATS portal is mandatory — if this field is left blank, your candidature will NOT be considered at all

How to Apply — Step by Step (NATS Portal)

Category A — Already enrolled in OLD portal (www.mhrdnats.gov.in):

• Visit nats.education.gov.in → Click Student → Student Login → Forgot Password → enter registered email to get activation link & reset password
• Log in with email ID & new password → complete the application form → a unique 12-digit Enrolment Number is generated

Category B — Already enrolled in NEW portal (www.nats.education.gov.in):

• Log in directly with your registered email ID and password

Category C — First-time enrolment (not registered anywhere before):

• Visit nats.education.gov.in → Click Student → Student Register → complete the application form → a unique 12-digit Enrolment Number (ATN…) is generated

Common steps for ALL categories, after enrolment/login:

• Under “Apply against advertised vacancies,” search for your preferred organization by exact name — e.g., “TAMILNADU STATE TRANSPORT CORPORATION VILLUPURAM LTD”, “TNSTC KUMBAKONAM”, “TNSTC SALEM SALEM REGION”, “TAMILNADU STATE TRANSPORT CORPORATION MADURAI LTD MADURAI REGION”, “TAMIL NADU STATE TRANSPORT CORPORATION LTD TIRUNELVELI REGION”, “METROPOLITAN TRANSPORT CORPORATION CHENNAI LTD”, or “STATE EXPRESS TRANSPORT CORPORATION TN LTD”

Does This Apprenticeship Guarantee a Job at TNSTC?

• No. Upon completion of the apprenticeship period, TNSTC (all regions), MTC, and SETC TN Ltd have NO obligation to offer employment to apprentices
• An apprentice cannot claim any right to employment merely on the grounds of having completed the apprenticeship — this is explicitly stated in the official notification
• No boarding/lodging expenses are provided, and no TA/DA is paid for attending certificate verification
