Education Qualification

  • Essential Qualification (as on 31.12.2026): Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government
  • Candidates in the final year/semester of graduation may also apply provisionally, subject to producing proof of passing on or before 31.12.2026
  • Candidates with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must ensure the IDD passing date is on or before 31.12.2026

Selection Process 2026

  • Phase 1: Preliminary Examination — Online, 100 Marks, 1 Hour
  • Phase 2: Main Examination — Online, 200 Marks, 2 Hours 40 Minutes
  • Phase 3: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) — for candidates without 10th/12th proof of the opted local language

Important Points

  • Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted from Prelims for the Main Exam, based on descending order of aggregate marks
  • Prelims marks are NOT added for final selection — only the Main Exam aggregate marks are considered for the final merit list
  • Candidates must score minimum qualifying percentage on aggregate in the Main Exam (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates)
  • No minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects/sections — only aggregate score matters
  • Trained Apprentices of SBI get 2.5% bonus marks (5 out of 200) added to their Main Exam score, subject to conditions
  • Merit list is drawn State-wise and category-wise; candidates are posted in the State/UT for which they applied
  • A reserve wait list of up to 50% of vacancies (state-category wise) is maintained, valid for 1 year from the date of final result declaration

Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)

  • 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities under Section 34 of the RPWD Act, 2016

Important Category-Wise Notes

  • OBC: Only “Non-Creamy Layer” candidates get reservation/relaxation; OBC certificate must have the Non-Creamy Layer clause issued between 01.04.2026 and the date of joining
  • EWS: Income & Asset Certificate for FY 2025-26 (valid for 2026-27), submitted at Document Verification — no extension of time permitted
  • SC/ST: Caste Certificate on prescribed format required at time of joining
  • Ex-Servicemen: 4.5% of total vacancies reserved for Disabled Ex-servicemen and dependents of servicemen killed in action (over and above the 10% XS reservation, total 14.5%); first priority to Disabled Ex-Servicemen, second to dependents of defence personnel killed/severely disabled
  • No Inter-Circle/Inter-State Transfer is permitted for Junior Associates before completing 5 years of service (except in exceptional cases like Extreme Compassionate Grounds/Spouse Ground, at Bank’s discretion)

Probation Period & Pre-Examination Training

  • Newly appointed Junior Associates are on probation for a minimum of 6 months
  • Probationers must complete e-lessons prescribed by the Bank during probation to get confirmed; failing which probation may be extended
  • Free Pre-Examination Training is available for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-servicemen/PwBD category candidates who opt for it in the online application, conducted online with schedule shared via registered email/SMS
