PNB LBO Recruitment 2026 — Full Overview

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has released a fresh notification on 20 July 2026 inviting online applications for 545 Local Bank Officer (LBO) posts in the JMGS-I scale. This is a state-specific recruitment — vacancies are announced separately for 17 states/UTs, and a candidate can apply for only one state based on their eligibility and mandatory local language proficiency. In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will get DA, CCA, HRA/Leased Accommodation, Leave Fare Concession, Medical Insurance, Retirement Benefits and other perquisites as per Bank rules.

Selected candidates will be posted within their selected State until completion of nine (9) years of service or promotion to SMG Scale IV, whichever is earlier. Prior work experience is mandatory for this post and will not be considered for seniority in service.

Mandatory Work Experience Requirement

  • Candidates must have a minimum of one-year post-qualification work experience in Clerical/Officer Cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of RBI Act, 1934
  • One advance increment is payable for each prior completed year of service as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank, up to a maximum of 2 increments, if the job profile matches a Scale-I Generalist Officer of PNB
  • Candidates from subsidiaries of Scheduled Commercial Banks (Officer cadre) get only 1 advance increment
  • Experience in NBFCs, Cooperative Banks, Payment Banks, Small Finance Banks or Fintechs is not considered for eligibility
  • Proof of prior experience must be submitted in the prescribed format, duly certified by the employer
  • No prior service/experience is considered for seniority purposes

Key Service Conditions to Know Before Applying

  • Indemnity Bond: Selected candidates must serve the Bank for at least 3 years or pay ₹2,00,000 if they leave before completing 3 years of active service
