Selection Process 2026

• Final merit list is based on Total Aggregate Marks obtained in the Shorthand Test and Computer Test (Speed Test & Efficiency Test)
• Minimum passing marks in Computer Test: 20/50 in each paper for SC/ST/PwBD, 22.5/50 for all others
• Candidates must clear the applicable Group (A or B) and Group C compulsorily
• Age-based tie-breaking rule applies if two candidates secure equal aggregate marks (elder candidate ranked higher)

Method of Evaluation (Shorthand Test)

• Full mistakes: omission of words/figures, wrong word/figure substitution, misspelling (2 partial mistakes = 1 full mistake)
• Partial mistakes: punctuation errors, wrong capitalization, wrong paragraph indentation
• Margin of 5% mistakes is allowed; excess mistakes beyond 5% are deducted from total dictated words for speed calculation
• Speed = (Actual Correct Words Typed + Permissible/Actual Mistakes, whichever is less) ÷ Duration (6 minutes)
• Marks = (Actual Correct Words Typed × 100) ÷ Total Dictated Words
