Note: Fee is non-refundable. Non-local candidates of Jharkhand claiming SC/ST fee concession will have their application rejected and candidature cancelled. Applications without fee payment will not be accepted.

Exam Pattern — Two-Stage Selection

Exam will be Computer Based Test (CBT)/OMR-based. If a subject’s exam is held in multiple groups/shifts, scores will be Normalized. Prelims will generally NOT be conducted if applications are below 50,000 — the Board may decide to hold only the Main Exam directly in such cases.

Selection Process — Step by Step

  • Stage 1: Prelims (only if applications exceed 50,000) — Common Merit List prepared; top 15x vacancies shortlisted for Mains

Local Residence, Caste & Reservation Certificate Rules (Very Important)

  • Local Residence Certificate: Must be issued on/after 02.06.2016 (SDO level) OR on/after 19.07.2019 (Circle Officer level) — certificates issued before these dates by Circle Officer are NOT valid
  • SC/ST Caste Certificate: Issued by DC/SDO level, OR by Circle Officer on/after 25.02.2019, OR at Circle Officer-and-above level on/after 10.05.2023
  • EBC-I/BC-II Certificate: Non-creamy layer certificate issued on/after 29.08.2012 by DC/SDO; valid Self-Declaration (Non-Creamy Layer) mandatory if certificate validity has expired
  • EWS Certificate: Valid Income & Asset Certificate from competent authority required
  • Certificates in formats other than those prescribed in the Appendices (I to IX) will generally NOT be accepted
  • Women migrated to Jharkhand through marriage are NOT eligible for reservation benefit
  • Caste/Income certificates issued for educational/army recruitment purposes are NOT valid for this reservation claim
  • Only certificates issued in the father’s/husband’s name are valid; if name spelling differs across certificates, an affidavit must be submitted at verification

Facility for PwBD Candidates

  • Scribe (Writer) facility with 20 minutes extra time per hour available for Blind/Low Vision, Locomotor Disability (both hands affected), and Cerebral Palsy candidates (40% or more disability)
  • Other PwBD candidates can also avail scribe facility if a Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon certificate (Appendix-XI) confirms writing inability
  • Scribe facility available ONLY if “PH” is printed against the reservation category on the Admit Card
  • Request for scribe facility must reach the Commission’s office at least 15 days before the exam date

  • Complete Registration to receive your Registration Number & Password via Mobile/Email — save these carefully
  • Log in again and fill in detailed personal, educational, and category information — use “Save and Continue” on each page
  • Pay the exam fee, then upload scanned Photograph and Signature
  • Verify all details, submit (Final) the application, and download the printout for future reference
  • Name spelling and Date of Birth must EXACTLY match your Matriculation/10th certificate — do NOT use “Shri/Mr./Shrimaan” prefixes
  • If multiple applications are submitted, only the LATEST submitted one is considered valid; fees of earlier cancelled applications are non-refundable

Important Warnings & Disqualification Grounds

  • Admit Card issuance does NOT confirm eligibility — the Commission can verify eligibility documents at any time after the exam
  • Overstatement of marks, forged documents, or false declarations lead to disqualification and possible criminal action
  • Candidature will be rejected if age, education, or other eligibility criteria (as on the application closing date) are not met
  • Electronic devices (mobile, Bluetooth, pager) are strictly banned inside the exam hall
  • Mass copying/malpractice detected at any exam centre can lead to cancellation of the ENTIRE exam at that centre, with no re-exam
  • Candidates found guilty of malpractice will be barred from JSSC exams for the next 2 years
  • Post-result recounting request accepted within 7 days of result, with a fee of ₹500/-
