Grounds of Rejection — Avoid These Mistakes
- Incomplete online application, including non-uploading of required documents

- Not passing the Odia Test (M.E. standard) or not furnishing evidence of the same

|
OPSC VAS 2026 Preparation Strategy
- With 800 total marks split equally across Veterinary Science and Animal Science, both papers deserve balanced preparation — don’t over-focus on just one
- Paper-I (Veterinary Science): Give special weightage to Veterinary Medicine and Pathology, as these carry the widest range of disease-related questions covering bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic conditions in livestock and poultry
- Paper-II (Animal Science): Focus heavily on Animal Nutrition and Livestock Production Management — practical, application-based topics that are frequently tested
- Since it’s a 200-question, 2½-hour paper per sitting, practice time management with full-length mock tests to build speed without losing accuracy
- Keep the Odisha Veterinary Practitioners Act, 1970 registration process sorted early — it is mandatory before the last date of application, not just at joining
- Prepare the Odia Test requirement well in advance if you don’t already have a qualifying certificate — this is a common rejection reason
- Since all 436 vacancies are backlog vacancies restricted to SEBC/SC/ST candidates, double-check your caste certificate validity window (issued within 3 years for SEBC) before applying
