About This Recruitment — Part of UP’s Statewide Anganwadi Drive

The District Programme Officer, Raebareli, issued a public notice (Vigyapti) on 16 July 2026 inviting online applications from eligible women candidates for 191 vacant Anganwadi Karyakartri (Anganwadi Worker) posts across the urban and rural Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) projects of Raebareli district. This forms part of a much larger statewide UP Anganwadi Bharti 2026 exercise, under which the Bal Vikas Seva evam Pushtahar Vibhag (Department of Women & Child Development, U.P.) has been releasing district-wise notifications on a rolling basis since late 2025 for a combined total of over 61,000 Anganwadi Worker, Helper, and Mini-Worker posts across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Raebareli’s 191-post drive follows the same recruitment framework, procedure and reservation rules as other districts, governed by Shasnadesh No. 1/1092245/2025/3313/58-1-2025 (1917687) dated 17.09.2025.

  • Gender: Only female candidates are eligible to apply for this post
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum — Intermediate (12th) pass or equivalent; Maximum qualification considered for merit — Postgraduate. Merit is prepared strictly on the basis of percentage/marks obtained; High School (10th) marks are NOT included in merit calculation
  • Age Limit: Minimum 18 years, Maximum 35 years, calculated as on 01 July 2026. Date of birth as recorded in the High School marksheet/certificate will be treated as valid for age purposes
  • Residence Requirement: The candidate must be a resident of the same Gram Sabha (village) for rural vacancies, or the same Ward for urban/city vacancies, against which she is applying — this is a strict local-residency filter
  • The overall selection process for Anganwadi Karyakartri posts will follow the procedure laid down under Shasnadesh No. 1/1092245/2025/3313/58-1-2025 (1917687) dated 17.09.2025, available on the official U.P. Government website

Selection Preference / Priority Order (वरीयता क्रम) — Direct Recruitment

Category (A) — BPL (Below Poverty Line) Family Candidates from the Same Gram Sabha/Ward, in this order:

  1. Widow woman from a BPL family
  2. Legally divorced or abandoned (parityakta) woman from a BPL family
  3. If no widow/divorced/abandoned BPL candidate is found — any other woman from a BPL family of the same Gram Sabha/Ward

Category (B) — Only if no eligible candidate is found under Category (A), the same order of preference applies to Above-Poverty-Line (APL) family candidates from the same Gram Sabha/Ward:

  1. Widow woman from an above-BPL (APL) family
  2. Legally divorced or abandoned woman from an above-BPL family
  3. If no widow/divorced/abandoned candidate is found — any other woman from an above-BPL family of the same Gram Sabha/Ward

Merit within each preference category is prepared strictly on the basis of educational qualification marks (Intermediate to Postgraduate level, percentage-wise), after which local residency and preference-order rules above are applied to determine final selection.

  • Widow candidates: Death certificate of husband and a certified copy of the family register (Parivar Panjika), both issued by the Gram Panchayat Officer / concerned Nagar Nikay, will be accepted as valid proof
  • Divorced/Abandoned candidates: A valid legal divorce decree/certificate issued by a competent court is mandatory as proof

  • All certificates (income, caste, residence) must be uploaded in the candidate’s own name, with the correct application/certificate number entered exactly as issued, so that online verification can be completed successfully

Raebareli in the Wider UP Anganwadi Bharti 2026 Picture

  • UP’s Bal Vikas Seva evam Pushtahar Vibhag has been releasing district-wise Anganwadi recruitment notifications on a rolling basis since late 2025, targeting a combined total of over 61,000 posts (Worker, Helper, and Mini-Worker cadres) across all 75 districts of the state
  • Districts such as Bagpat, Kannauj, Hapur, Amroha, Lalitpur, Pratapgarh, Siddharth Nagar, Ghazipur, Hathras and others have already run or are currently running their own local versions of this same drive — Raebareli’s 191-post notice (16 July 2026) is simply the latest district to open its window
  • The process is identical in structure everywhere: zero application fee, no written test, no interview — pure academic-merit-based selection filtered through strict local residency and BPL/widow/divorced-preference rules
  • Because vacancy numbers, project names and reservation splits differ district to district, candidates should always cross-check figures against their own District Programme Officer’s notice board and the district-specific PDF on upanganwadibharti.in rather than relying on figures from another district

Job Profile — What an Anganwadi Karyakartri Does

  • Runs the local Anganwadi Centre under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme, serving children aged 0–6 years, pregnant women, and lactating mothers
  • Delivers supplementary nutrition, pre-school non-formal education, immunization referral support, health check-up coordination, and nutrition & health education in the assigned Gram Sabha/Ward
  • Maintains growth monitoring records (height/weight) of children, identifies malnourished children, and refers severe cases for further medical care
  • Works closely with the Anganwadi Sahayika (Helper), ASHA workers, and ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwives) as part of the village/ward-level health and nutrition network
  • Plays a frontline role in flagship national programs like Poshan Abhiyaan and the National Food Security Act’s supplementary nutrition provisions

Tips for a Strong, Error-Free Application

  • Since High School marks don’t count in merit, focus your application accuracy on correctly uploading Intermediate/Graduation/Post-Graduation marksheets with the exact percentage shown on the original certificate
  • Double-check that your online residence certificate reflects the exact Gram Sabha/Ward for which you are applying — a mismatch here is one of the most common reasons for rejection
  • If applying under the widow/divorced preference category, ensure your death certificate, family register, or court divorce decree is scanned clearly and matches the name spelling used elsewhere in your form
  • Verify your income certificate is issued under the correct 2021 order (Order No. 3959/1-9-11-Ra-9) and reflects the applicable BPL/APL limit for rural or urban areas as relevant to you
  • Since there is no written exam or interview, your uploaded certificates and correctly entered percentages are the entire basis of your selection — proofread everything before final submission, as no corrections are typically allowed after submission
  • Keep a habit of checking your Gram Panchayat/Ward notice board and the Block/ICDS Project office regularly, since local-level updates (merit list, objection window) may not always be prominently pushed on the central portal
