What to Do After Getting Your Allotment — Accept, Freeze, or Upgrade

Option What It Means
Accept & Freeze You confirm admission to the allotted seat and submit a “freeze” request, opting out of any future upgrades — choose this only if fully satisfied with your college/programme
Accept & Remain in Upgrade Pool You take admission on the current seat but stay eligible for a better allotment (higher preference) in subsequent rounds; if upgraded, you must accept and complete admission on the new seat, or risk cancellation
Decline / No Action A free exit is available for candidates who do not accept their seat after the 1st round; however, a deduction from the refundable payment applies if the seat is declined after the 2nd round onward
Important: Inactivity after taking admission means you retain your current seat with no further upgrades. If you fail to act on an upgraded seat in a later round, it results in cancellation and exclusion from CSAS(UG) 2026 altogether — always log in and respond within each round’s deadline.

Basis of DU CSAS Seat Allotment

  • CUET UG 2026 Score/Percentile: The core determining factor — DU prepares a college-wise, programme-wise merit list based on candidates’ relevant subject-combination percentile
  • Programme-Specific Eligibility: Minimum subject combination and Class 12 eligibility criteria set by DU for each programme
  • Locked Preferences: The order of college-programme combinations finally submitted by the candidate (2,08,043 candidates locked preferences this cycle)
  • Category Reservation: SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/Kashmiri Migrants/Sports/ECA and other applicable DU reservation categories
  • Seat Availability: Total intake capacity per college per programme, as notified by DU for the 2026-27 academic session

DU CUET Cut Off 2026 — Expected Trends (Popular Programmes)

College / Programme Expected Cut Off Range (Score/Percentile)
Hindu College — BA (Hons) Political Science 925 – 945
SRCC — B.Com (Hons) approx. 907 – 927
LSR — BA (Hons) Psychology approx. 916 – 936
LSR — BA (Hons) Political Science approx. 914 – 917
Hansraj / ARSD / Aryabhatta / Daulat Ram Colleges (Various Programmes) 500 – 600
Note: These are expected/estimated ranges based on previous years’ trends, not the official cut off — DU’s actual college-wise, programme-wise, and category-wise cut off is visible directly on each candidate’s CSAS dashboard along with today’s allotment result. Cut offs vary year to year based on the number of applicants, seat availability, and difficulty of CUET.

Simulated Rank vs Likely College — Rough Reference

Simulated Rank Range Colleges Typically in Reach
Top Ranks (High Percentile, 700+ Score) North Campus flagship colleges — Hindu, SRCC, LSR, Hansraj, Miranda House, Ramjas (top programmes)
9,000 – 12,000 Hansraj, Ramjas, Gargi, Aryabhatta, Kalindi, Zakir Hussain (depending on programme & category)
Moderate/Lower Ranks Off-campus and smaller colleges — several good options still remain, especially in later allotment rounds
Note: A CUET score above 700 or a percentile above 95 is generally considered relatively safe for competitive North Campus colleges, though this varies significantly by programme and category. Always refer to your own CSAS dashboard and today’s actual allotment for the most accurate picture.

Category-Wise Reservation & Relaxation

  • Candidates from SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD categories are eligible for cut off relaxation compared to unreserved (General) candidates
  • DU CUET cut off marks are typically lower for reserved category candidates in each college-programme combination
  • Candidates must present their valid category certificate during document verification — failure to do so can lead to disqualification from the reserved-category allotment, or the candidate being considered under the General category instead
  • Additional special categories like Kashmiri Migrants, Sports quota, and Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) quota also have separate allotment provisions at DU

Documents Required for Seat Confirmation

  • CUET UG 2026 Admit Card & Scorecard
  • CSAS(UG) 2026 Allotment/Allocation Letter
  • Class 10 & Class 12 Marksheets and Passing Certificates
  • Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD, as applicable) in the prescribed format
  • Migration Certificate (if applicable, for candidates from other boards/universities)
  • Character Certificate from the last attended institution
  • Passport-size Photographs
  • Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar Card, etc.)
  • Seat Confirmation Fee Payment Receipt

Note: Candidates must also undergo a medical fitness check as part of the admission process at most colleges — carry any relevant medical documents if requested by your allotted college.

Most Preferred Programmes This Year

  • Commerce programmes (B.Com Hons, B.Com) continue to dominate candidate preferences in DU UG Admissions 2026
  • Popular BA (Hons) programmes — Political Science, Economics, Psychology, English — remain in high demand, especially at North Campus colleges
  • Science programmes (B.Sc Computer Science, B.Sc Mathematics) also see strong demand, particularly at colleges known for strong placement records
  • The overall increase in locked preferences (from 2,06,835 to 2,08,043) after the simulated rank release reflects candidates finalising their choices once they had a clearer idea of their competitive position

What If You Don’t Get Your Preferred College Today?

  • Don’t panic: This is only the first of multiple allotment rounds — DU conducts at least 3 main rounds, plus an upgrade round, a spot round, and a mop-up round
  • Accept with upgrade option: If you’re not fully satisfied but the current seat is acceptable, consider accepting while remaining in the upgrade pool rather than declining outright
  • Reassess your preference order: Between rounds, you may get further opportunities to submit new preferences for subsequent rounds, especially for the spot and mop-up rounds
  • Track vacant seat updates: DU publishes updated vacancy data before each subsequent round, which can open up options at colleges that weren’t accessible in Round 1
