Eligibility Criteria — Nationality & Domicile

• The candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India
• The candidate must be a Permanent Resident of Assam
• As proof of domicile, candidates must upload either a valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purposes, or a valid Employment Exchange Registration Certificate — either document is accepted as valid proof of residency

Educational Qualification

A candidate must possess at least a Degree in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science from any recognized University/Institution. Applicants must upload the relevant mark sheets/grade sheets of each semester/year reflecting the subjects studied, along with the final pass certificate.

How to Apply Online for APSC VO/BVO Recruitment 2026

• Applicants must apply online through the APSC Recruitment website — apscrecruitment.in. No other means/mode of application will be accepted
• First-time applicants must click “Register Here” and complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process using a valid, active email address and mobile number
• After registration, log in using the registered email/mobile number and password
• Fill in the required registration details; mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*)
• Candidates must note that required certificates relating to age, caste, and minimum educational qualification will be fetched from the OTR profile — update your OTR profile if any additional documents need to be uploaded in support of this post
• Upload required documents/certificates in PDF format (file size not exceeding 4 MB, legible print, scanned at 200 dpi in greyscale recommended)
• Upload a recent photograph (50 KB–200 KB, not older than 3 months) and signature (50 KB–200 KB)
• Use the Preview option to verify all details and uploaded documents are correct and legible before final submission
• Click “Proceed to Pay” to complete the fee payment — no editing is allowed after final submission
• Applicants without debit card/internet banking facilities may apply through the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC)
• After successful submission, take a printout of the submitted Online Application Form and retain the hard copy for future reference

Selection Process & Zone-Wise Examination

As per the official notification, the selection procedure will be notified later by the Commission through a corrigendum/addendum. The Commission will decide the mode of selection considering the status, cadre, grade of the post, and the number of applications received. Candidates must, if required, attend a personal interview/Viva-Voce at a place fixed by the Commission; the Commission does not defray travel or other expenses for candidates summoned for interview.

The Commission may also conduct the examination/test zone-wise, depending on the number of candidates from each district, based on the following six zones:

Documents Required at the Time of Interview

The following original documents/certificates along with self-attested copies (plus any other items specified in the intimation letter/admit card) must be produced at the interview, failing which the candidate will not be allowed to appear:

• Class-X/Class-XII Examination Admit Card/Pass Certificate/Marksheet clearly indicating Date of Birth, in support of the age claim
• Certificates & mark sheets of all examinations from HSLC onwards up to the level of the qualifying examination
• Experience Certificate (wherever necessary)
• Caste certificate issued by the Government of Assam, for candidates seeking SC/ST/OBC/MOBC reservation, clearly indicating the caste, the Act/Order under which it is recognized, and the candidate’s village/town of ordinary residence
• BPL certificate issued by the Government of Assam (wherever necessary)
• Declaration Form-A related to the Assam Public Services (Application of Small Family Norms in Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2019 — downloadable from apsc.nic.in (Forms & Downloads section)
• Documentary support for any other claim(s) made
• A valid Photo ID — PAN Card, Driving Licence, Passport, Voter ID Card, Aadhaar Card, or a current ID card issued by an educational institution

Important Points to Note

• Admission to all stages of selection is purely provisional and subject to scrutiny; if a candidate is found ineligible at any stage — even after screening, written examination, or interview — their candidature will be cancelled
• No request for withdrawal of candidature will be entertained once the application is submitted
• No candidate will be allowed to change their claimed category/sub-category at any stage of the selection process
• Furnishing wrong, erroneous, or incorrect information may lead to disqualification for a period specified by the Commission; detection of false declaration after recommendation may lead to further action by the Government
• The date for determining eligibility in every respect is the closing date for submitting the online application, unless specifically mentioned otherwise
• Candidates must ensure all necessary documents are uploaded before final submission — no documents will be accepted after final submission, and no further request for document submission will be entertained
• Date of birth mentioned in the application is final; no subsequent request for change will be considered
• Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate

APSC VO/BVO Job Profile

• Providing veterinary healthcare, diagnosis, and treatment for livestock and animals at the Block/District level
• Implementing government animal husbandry and veterinary schemes, disease-control and vaccination programmes
• Supervising artificial insemination, breeding improvement, and livestock productivity initiatives
• Conducting field visits, farmer outreach/extension work, and maintaining veterinary records for the assigned block/area
• Coordinating with the District Animal Husbandry & Veterinary office on disease surveillance and public health matters related to livestock
• Posting will be across various districts of Assam as per departmental requirement, based on the six recruitment zones
