The Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences (BSIP), Lucknow, an autonomous research institution under the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, has released a notification for 19 Scientist ‘B’ posts on a regular basis in its scientific cadre. Educational Qualification (Essential)

Candidates must meet either of the following:

  • Option 1: M.Sc. or a recognized equivalent qualification with First Division in Biosciences, Geology, Physics, Chemistry, or an allied Earth Science discipline, along with 3 years of research experience in the relevant discipline
  • Option 2: Ph.D. in a relevant discipline

Salary Structure

  • Selected candidates will be placed at Pay Level-10 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission, along with usual allowances admissible as per Institute rules, which follow the Government of India pattern
  • Selected candidates will be governed by the New Pension Scheme (NPS)
  • All appointments will be made on an initial probation period of 2 years

Selection Process

  • All applications received within the due date will be considered for shortlisting by a Screening Committee
  • Only candidates recommended by the Screening Committee, after approval of the Competent Authority, will be called for a Personal Interview
  • Important: Meeting the minimum advertised qualification and experience does not automatically guarantee a call for interview
  • The decision of the Institute regarding shortlisting is final, and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the personal interview
