Nationality

• Candidate must be a citizen of India, OR
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1972 with intention of permanently settling in India, OR
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika), or Zambia with intention of permanently settling in India (Certificate of Eligibility from State Government required for these categories)

• Educational Qualification: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution
• Computer Qualification: Diploma/Certificate of at least 6 months’ course in Computer Application from a recognized institution
• Character: Must be suitable in all respects; persons terminated/dismissed by Government or convicted of serious offences are ineligible
• Marital Status: A male candidate with more than one living wife, or a female candidate who married a man already having a living wife, is NOT eligible
• Physical Fitness: Candidate must be in good mental and physical health; a medical fitness certificate is required at the time of joining
• Preferential Qualification: Candidates who served in the Territorial Army for at least 2 years, or hold an NCC ‘B’ Certificate, get preference (other things being equal) at the interview stage

How to Apply Online for Patna High Court Ex-Cadre Assistant 2026

• Visit the official website — patnahighcourt.gov.in → “Recruitments” tab (left menu)
• Click on “Ex-Cadre Assistant Recruitment Examination, 2026” → “Apply Online”
• Click “New Registration” and fill Full Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Gender, Category, DOB, Mobile Number, Email ID — fields marked (*) are mandatory and cannot be changed after submission
• Registration Number and Password will be sent via SMS/Email — print the registration page for reference
• Login and fill Personal Details, then Education Details (submit each section)
• Capture a live photograph (full face, both ears, neutral expression, light/white background, no cap/sunglasses; religious headwear allowed but must not cover the face)
• Upload Scanned Signature (50–80 KB, JPG/JPEG) and required Documents (100–300 KB, JPG/JPEG/PDF)
• Preview the application on the Print Preview Page, tick the declaration checkbox, then proceed to Payment
• Pay the fee online — after payment, no further changes are allowed in the application
• Take a printout of the finally submitted application form with payment details for future reference

Important: All certificates must be issued on or before 27.08.2026 and valid on the date of application submission. Documents produced at Document Verification must exactly match those uploaded — mismatches can lead to cancellation of candidature.

Procedure for Appointment & Merit List

• Selection is made purely on merit; final select list/panel (waiting list) is based on Written Test + Interview marks, following the model roster point and reservation policy
• Tie-breaker: higher marks in Written Test first, then the earlier-born candidate
• The select list/panel (waiting list) remains valid for 1 year from approval, extendable by another year in case of exigency
• Appointees must join within the period specified in the appointment letter; seniority is fixed based on actual date of joining if joined late
• There is NO provision for re-evaluation/re-checking/scrutiny of the answer sheet or score
• There is NO provision for Scribe or extra time for Locomotor Disabled candidates at any stage

Important General Instructions Candidates Must Know

• Online Application Form CANNOT be withdrawn once submitted successfully
• Only the LAST application will be considered valid if multiple forms are submitted; fee paid on earlier forms will not be refunded/adjusted
• Mobile Phones, Pagers, Bluetooth devices, Smart Watches, or any communication device are strictly NOT allowed inside the exam premises
• Candidates already employed under Government/PSU/Recognized Private Entity must apply only after seeking employer’s permission, and must produce an NOC at the Interview stage
• Candidates who changed their name after Matriculation must submit a notarized affidavit, newspaper publication proof, and Gazette Notification at Document Verification
• Candidates must disclose any criminal proceedings/FIR or departmental proceedings against them — concealment can lead to disqualification, even after appointment
• Merely appearing/qualifying does NOT confer any right to appointment — selection is provisional, subject to final eligibility verification
• Category-wise cut-off marks of each stage will be published with the result; individual scores will be uploaded post final result via candidate login only
• Examination records will be retained for 365 days from final result declaration, after which materials are weeded out — no RTI applications will be entertained thereafter
• All disputes fall within the jurisdiction of the High Court of Judicature at Patna only
