SSC GD Constable Result 2026 – Overview

Important: Two Different SSC GD Results — Don’t Get Confused

• Previous Cycle — Final Result (Already Declared): The SSC GD Constable Final Result for the earlier recruitment cycle has already been released, containing the final selection list after CBE + PET/PST + Medical + Document Verification. In the last completed cycle, a total of 53,252 candidates qualified (4,932 male + 48,320 female, as per the declared final result).
• Current Cycle — CBE (Written) Result (Awaited): For the ongoing 2025-2026 recruitment cycle (CBE held 27 April–30 May 2026), only the written exam result is now awaited — expected around July-August 2026. This is just the first stage result; PET/PST, medical, and final selection will follow afterward.

Always check the exact exam-cycle/year mentioned on the result notice on ssc.gov.in to confirm which result you are viewing, since SSC often labels a cycle by more than one year (e.g., “Examination-2026,2025”).

• Visit the official SSC website — ssc.gov.in
• Click on the “Results” tab on the homepage
• Look for “Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination — List of Candidates Qualified for PET/PST”
• Click the “Result” column link to open the Merit List PDF
• Open the PDF and press Ctrl+F (or use the search icon on mobile) → type your Roll Number or Name
• If your details are highlighted, you have qualified in the written exam
• Download and save the result PDF for future reference

How SSC GD Marks Are Calculated & Normalised

• Marking Scheme: +2 marks for every correct answer, −0.25 mark (1/4) for every wrong answer, no penalty for unattempted questions
• Expected Score Formula: Total Score = (Correct Answers × 2) − (Wrong Answers × 0.25)
• Normalisation: Since the CBE is conducted across many shifts and days (27 April – 30 May 2026), SSC applies a normalisation formula to adjust raw scores based on the relative difficulty of each shift — normalised marks may increase, decrease, or stay the same versus the raw score
• Final result is based on normalised marks, not raw scores, to ensure fairness across shifts
• Tie-Breaking Rule (in order): 1) Marks in Part-A of the CBE, 2) Marks in Part-B of the CBE, 3) Older candidate (by Date of Birth) ranked higher

Full Selection Process — What Happens After the Result

• Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBE) — objective test, 80 questions, 160 marks (completed)
• Stage 2: CBE Result & Merit List for PET/PST — based on normalised marks and category-wise cut-off (awaited, current stage)
• Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — Race, timed physical tasks as per force-specific/gender-specific standards
• Stage 4: Physical Standard Test (PST) — Height, Chest, Weight measurements as per category/region-specific norms
• Stage 5: Detailed Medical Examination (DME) — comprehensive medical fitness check
• Stage 6: Review Medical Examination (RME) — optional, for candidates found unfit in DME who wish to appeal
• Stage 7: Document Verification — original certificates checked against application
• Stage 8: Final Result & Merit List — prepared purely on CBE performance (subject to qualifying all subsequent stages); final posting/allocation to respective force follows

Important: PET, PST, and Medical Examination are strictly qualifying in nature — they do not add or subtract marks. The final merit list is based solely on CBE marks of candidates who successfully clear every subsequent stage.

SSC GD Cut Off — What Determines It

• Cut-off marks are released separately for male and female candidates, and separately for each category (UR, OBC, EWS, SC, ST) and State/UT/Force
• Factors influencing cut-off: overall difficulty level of the CBE, total number of applicants, number of vacancies notified per force/state, and category-wise reservation norms
• A tougher paper generally results in a lower cut-off, even when the number of notified vacancies is relatively low
• Since 2025-26 cycle vacancies (25,487) are notably lower than some previous cycles, competition and cut-off trends may shift accordingly — always compare with the most recent 1-2 cycles rather than older data

What to Do While Waiting for the Result

• Estimate your score using the final answer key and the marking formula: (Correct × 2) − (Wrong × 0.25) — this gives a fair idea of where you stand versus expected cut-off trends
• Start PET/PST preparation now — don’t wait for the CBE result, since the PET/PST window typically opens soon after the merit list and requires physical readiness (race timing, height/chest/weight standards)
• Keep all original documents ready — education certificates, category certificate, domicile/nativity proof, and ID proof, since Document Verification follows quickly after PET/PST
• Save your Roll Number, Registration Number and Password securely — you’ll need these for both the result check and the detailed scorecard login
• Rely only on ssc.gov.in for official updates — avoid unofficial “leaked result” claims circulating on social media, which are common but unverified around SSC GD result time
