• Horticulture Technician Grade-IV: 10+2 with 1-year Basic Horticulture training
• Health Educator: Graduation with Science from a recognized University
• Sanitary Inspector: 10+2 or above + minimum 2-year Diploma in Sanitation and Public Health
• Junior Pharmacist: Minimum 10+2 with Science + Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy
• Para Medical Assistant: 10+2 with Diploma in Para Medical Assistant Course
• Junior Theatre Technician: Matric or above + Degree/Diploma in Operational Theatre Technology
• Junior Ophthalmic Technician: Matric or above + Degree/Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician Course

Domicile & Reservation Rules

• Candidates must be Domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, valid on or before the cut-off date (09.10.2026)
• Reservation applies as per the category-wise breakup conveyed by the Indenting Departments and the J&K Reservation Act/Rules, as amended
• Reserved-category certificates must be in the prescribed format and uploaded at the time of online application — certificates in any other format will not be entertained, and no further chance to upload will be given later
• Horizontal Reservation applies for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) as communicated by Indenting Departments; ESM horizontal reservation specifically applies for posts up to Level-6E (35900-113500)
• An Ex-Serviceman who has already availed Horizontal Reservation once cannot avail it again for subsequent employment (as per S.O. 361 of 2021); an affidavit before a 1st Class Judicial Magistrate is required at document verification
• False/fake/forged reservation claims lead to debarment from JKSSB examinations plus penal action

Facility for PwBD Candidates — Scribe & Compensatory Time

• Eligible PwBD candidates with a valid disability certificate may avail a Scribe and/or compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination
• Candidate must arrange their own scribe; the scribe must not be a candidate for the same exam, must not be from the same institution/centre, must not be a relative, and must hold a qualification lower than the candidate’s and not more than the minimum required for the post
• Required documents on exam day: application on plain paper, self-attested Disability Certificate, Certificate regarding Physical Limitation to Write (Annexure-B), Letter of Undertaking for Using Own Scribe (Annexure-C), Admit Card, scribe’s qualification certificate and photo ID (self-attested)
• PwBD candidates opting for these facilities are advised to reach the exam centre at least 1 hour in advance
• If a candidate is found assisting another PwBD candidate as scribe, both candidatures will be cancelled

Document Verification (DV)

• Candidates shortlisted for DV must appear with original documents plus self-attested photocopies of every document/certificate/online application form
• All qualifications and documents (Birth Certificate, Domicile Certificate, Category Certificate, etc.) must be legally valid on or before the cut-off date
• Failure to appear before the DV Committee or produce original documents on the scheduled date means the candidate will not be considered for selection
• No TA/DA is paid for participation in the written test or document verification
• Candidates must carry 2 recent passport-size colour photographs (not older than 6 months, with date mentioned) and a valid original photo ID proof
• Candidates with a foreign/out-of-UT degree (from Universities/Colleges outside J&K, other than Central Universities) must produce a Bonafide Certificate in the Board’s prescribed format from the concerned University’s Controller/Registrar

How to Apply for JKSSB Recruitment 2026

• Applications will be accepted online only, through the official JKSSB portal (details to be published separately on jkssb.nic.in)
• Fill out the application carefully with Name, Date of Birth, Father’s & Mother’s Name strictly as per your Matriculation Certificate
• Upload your live photograph, signature (10–20 KB), category certificate (max 100 KB, PDF), and qualification/experience certificates (self-attested, max 100 KB, PDF)
• Carefully select the specific Item Number(s)/post(s) you wish to apply for — final allotment is made on merit-cum-preference basis only among the items you’ve chosen and are eligible for
• Pay the application fee (₹600/- or ₹500/- as applicable) via Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card
• Review everything carefully before submission — no changes/corrections are permitted once the application is submitted and an application number is generated
• Only one application per Item Number is allowed; multiple applications for the same item can lead to cancellation and debarment
• In-service candidates must additionally submit a printout of the filled application along with a duly signed & stamped certificate through their Head of Department, forwarded to JKSSB by the last date of Document Verification
• Apply well before the closing date to avoid last-minute website overload — do not wait until 09 October 2026

Documents to Carry at the Examination Hall

• Printout of Admit Card / Roll Number Card / Slip (mandatory)
• At least 2 recent passport-size colour photographs (not older than 6 months, with date mentioned)
• Original valid Photo ID Proof — Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar printout, Voter ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, School/College/University I-Card, or Employer ID Card
• PwBD candidates using a scribe: relevant medical certificate/undertaking/photocopy of scribe’s photo ID, as specified

Banned Items: Mobile phones (even switched off), pagers, any electronic/programmable device, storage media (pen drives), smart watches, smart glasses, AI-enabled devices, cameras, Bluetooth devices, and related accessories are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall. No safekeeping arrangement will be made — JKSSB is not responsible for any loss.

Important Instructions Candidates Must Know

• Candidature is accepted only provisionally at the written exam stage — no detailed scrutiny happens before the exam; ineligible candidates found later will be excluded at any subsequent stage
• Assignment of Roll Number and issuance of Admit Card does not confer any right to participate in later stages if discrepancies in identification, qualification, or eligibility are later found
• Examination details, Roll Number slips, and all updates will be available only on the official website — nothing will be sent by post
• Submission of the application implies agreement to undergo physical frisking, DFMD scanning, biometric capturing, facial recognition screening, and Aadhaar authentication at the exam venue
• Any misconduct/malpractice/misbehavior (including defying exam officials’ instructions) leads to debarment from future JKSSB exams and cancellation of candidature
• Fake/fabricated applications misusing any dignitary’s name/photo will attract legal action under the Cyber/IT Act
• The decision of the Board is final and binding on all matters — eligibility, penalty for false information, mode of selection, exam conduct, centre allotment, debarment, and merit list preparation
• The number of posts advertised may increase or decrease during the selection process, and JKSSB is not legally liable for such variation
• The Advertisement Notification is also subject to the outcome of any pending writ petition/O.A. before a competent court

Preparation Tips for JKSSB 2026 Written Exam

• Since the exam is entirely in English with 1/4th negative marking, attempt only questions you’re reasonably confident about — guesswork can cost more than it gains
• Since 421 of 518 posts (over 81%) fall under Health & Medical Education, candidates applying for para-medical posts (Pharmacist, Lab Technician, Staff Nurse, Ophthalmic/Theatre Technician, FMPHW/MMPHW) should expect strong competition, especially for the 211 Junior Pharmacist posts
• Focus your subject-specific/technical revision around your diploma/degree coursework, since most posts require a specific paramedical, horticultural, or lab-technical qualification as a base
• Watch the official website closely for the separately notified detailed syllabus — don’t assume the general qualification requirement alone tells you the exam content
