Note: The balance amount (after deducting the non-refundable admin fee) is adjusted against tuition/hostel fees at the time of institute reporting. If a candidate withdraws before the final exit deadline, the remaining amount (excluding admin fee) is refundable as per institute policy.

Options After Round 1 Allotment — What Should You Do?

  • Option 1 — Accept & Freeze: Pay the SAF and confirm the seat; you exit the counselling process and no further upgrades will be offered in later rounds
  • Option 2 — Accept & Float: Pay the SAF but remain in the counselling pool to be considered for a better/preferred choice in subsequent rounds (Round 2/3)
  • Option 3 — Reject/Decline: Do not pay the fee and continue waiting for the next round, but you risk losing the current allotment entirely if seats fill up
  • Option 4 — Withdraw: Exit the admission process completely if you no longer wish to join any IISER (fee refund policy applies as per official rules and withdrawal deadline)
  • Important: Failure to pay the SAF within the deadline (28 July 2026, 5:00 PM for Round 1) will result in automatic cancellation of the allotted seat
