Nature of Post & Honorarium

• This is a purely voluntary social service position. It is NOT a government job, regular employment, or salaried post.
• No fixed monthly salary or pay scale is given.
• Only daily honorarium is payable as fixed by District Legal Services Authority from time to time.
• Current Honorarium: ₹550/- per day (for actual days of work).
• Work is assigned as per requirement of DLSA / TLSC (legal awareness camps, Lok Adalats, mediation support, assisting eligible persons in accessing free legal aid, welfare schemes, etc.).
• Selected PLVs work under the guidance of DLSA Secretary / TLSC Chairman and must follow all rules and instructions of NALSA / MSLSA.

Eligibility Criteria

• Residence: Candidate must be a local permanent resident of the specific taluka / area for which he/she is applying (as per the vacancy table below).
• Educational Qualification: Minimum literacy is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have passed Class 10th (SSC).
• Candidate should possess basic comprehension ability and understanding of local issues.
• No upper or lower age limit is specifically mentioned in the notice (generally adult persons with social service inclination are preferred).
• Computer knowledge is desirable but not mandatory.

• Teachers (including retired teachers)
• Retired Government employees and Senior Citizens
• MSW (Master of Social Work) students and teachers
• Anganwadi Sevikas
• Doctors / Medical professionals
• Students and Law students (till they get enrolled as Advocates)
• Members of non-political, service-oriented NGOs and Clubs
• Members of Women Neighbourhood Groups, Mitra Sangh, and Self-Help Groups (especially of weaker / vulnerable sections)
• Educated prisoners with good conduct who are undergoing long-term sentences
• Any other person whom the DLSA or TLSC considers suitable for appointment as Adhikar Mitra / PLV

Disqualification / Grounds for Removal

• Showing lack of interest / disinterest in the work or objectives of the PLV scheme
• Declared insolvent by a court
• Facing any criminal charge or being an accused in a criminal case
• Physically or mentally incapable of performing the duties of a PLV
• Misuse of the position or any misconduct harmful to public interest
• Being an active political worker or office-bearer of any political party / organisation

In such cases, the appointment can be cancelled by the Chairman, DLSA Gadchiroli after inquiry, without prior notice.

Vacancy Details – Area-Wise (Total 450 Posts)

Selection Process 2026

• Stage 1: Submission of offline application in prescribed format with attested documents by 13 August 2026 (5 PM).
• Stage 2: Scrutiny of applications. Incomplete or late applications will be rejected.
• Stage 3: Shortlisting of candidates based on number of applications received, educational qualification, social service experience, and local residence.
• Stage 4: Personal Interview / interaction by the Selection Committee (chaired by District Judge / Chairman of DLSA or TLSC).
• Final empanelment is at the sole discretion of the Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Gadchiroli.
• No written examination is conducted.

Role & Duties of a Para Legal Volunteer (PLV)

• Act as the first point of contact for people seeking free legal aid and justice in rural / remote areas.
• Create legal awareness among villagers about their rights, welfare schemes, and free legal services.
• Help eligible persons (women, SC/ST, poor, disabled, victims of crime, etc.) in approaching DLSA / TLSC / courts for free legal aid.
• Assist in organising Lok Adalats, legal literacy camps, and mediation programmes.
• Support community mediation and resolution of minor disputes at village level.
• Help in filling forms, collecting documents, and guiding people for benefits under government schemes related to legal aid.
• Report to DLSA / TLSC and maintain confidentiality & neutrality.
• Work only on assigned days and follow the NALSA PLV Scheme guidelines strictly.

How to Apply Offline – Step-by-Step

• Download or collect the prescribed application form from the official notice (forms for DLSA and TLSCs are given in the notice itself).
• Fill the form carefully in neat handwriting or typed format.
• Attach self-attested / attested photocopies of all required documents.
• Affix a recent passport-size photograph where indicated.
• Submit the complete application by hand only at the concerned address given below on or before 13 August 2026 by 5:00 PM.
• Applications sent by post or received after the deadline will not be considered.
• Keep a photocopy of the filled form and acknowledgment (if given) for your record.
