Nature of Post & Honorarium

  • Selected PLVs work under the guidance of DLSA Secretary / TLSC Chairman and must follow all rules and instructions of NALSA / MSLSA.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Residence: Candidate must be a local permanent resident of the specific taluka / area for which he/she is applying (as per the vacancy table below).
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum literacy is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have passed Class 10th (SSC).
  • Candidate should possess basic comprehension ability and understanding of local issues.
  • No upper or lower age limit is specifically mentioned in the notice (generally adult persons with social service inclination are preferred).
  • Computer knowledge is desirable but not mandatory.

Disqualification / Grounds for Removal

  • Showing lack of interest / disinterest in the work or objectives of the PLV scheme
  • Declared insolvent by a court
  • Facing any criminal charge or being an accused in a criminal case
  • Physically or mentally incapable of performing the duties of a PLV
  • Misuse of the position or any misconduct harmful to public interest
  • Being an active political worker or office-bearer of any political party / organisation

In such cases, the appointment can be cancelled by the Chairman, DLSA Gadchiroli after inquiry, without prior notice.

Selection Process 2026

Role & Duties of a Para Legal Volunteer (PLV)

  • Act as the first point of contact for people seeking free legal aid and justice in rural / remote areas.
  • Create legal awareness among villagers about their rights, welfare schemes, and free legal services.
  • Help eligible persons (women, SC/ST, poor, disabled, victims of crime, etc.) in approaching DLSA / TLSC / courts for free legal aid.
  • Assist in organising Lok Adalats, legal literacy camps, and mediation programmes.
  • Support community mediation and resolution of minor disputes at village level.
  • Help in filling forms, collecting documents, and guiding people for benefits under government schemes related to legal aid.
  • Report to DLSA / TLSC and maintain confidentiality & neutrality.
  • Work only on assigned days and follow the NALSA PLV Scheme guidelines strictly.
