Important Points

  • Call letters for interview are issued only through registered email ID after document scrutiny — check your email regularly
  • Final merit list considers interview marks; ties are broken first by date of birth (elder placed higher), then by alphabetical order of name as per Std X certificate
  • Mere submission of online application or receipt of acknowledgement does NOT guarantee enrolment — selection depends on merit list, category-wise vacancies, and scrutiny of credentials

Stipend, Facilities & Apprentice Benefits

  • Monthly Stipend: Paid as per Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 or as revised by Government from time to time; subject to registration on the online apprenticeship portal and execution of a valid apprenticeship contract

After Apprenticeship — Certificate & Employment Prospects

  • Every full-term apprentice who completes training must appear for a proficiency test conducted by the Apprentice School or an agency authorized by the Central Government
  • Apprentices who pass are issued a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) for proficiency in the trade, by the Director General of Training (DGT)
  • Important: It is NOT obligatory for Naval Ship Repair Yard to offer employment after training completion, nor is the apprentice obligated to accept any employment if offered — this is training, not a job guarantee
  • The NAC is a nationally recognized credential valuable for future ITI-trade-based government and private sector job applications
