On 14 July 2026, the Board published the final selection result for all four cadres together, giving category-wise cut-off marks based on the normalized written exam score, order of preference, and the applicable UP State reservation policy.

How the Final Merit Was Prepared

• Since the written exam was held in 4 shifts, scores were normalized to remove any difficulty-level variation between shifts, as per the applicable service rules and the original notification’s provisions.
• Based on normalized marks and UP State’s reservation policy, a category-wise merit list of roughly 2.7 times the advertised vacancies (12,333 candidates) was called for Document Verification and Physical Standard Test.
• Candidates who cleared DV/PST were then put through the qualifying-nature Physical Efficiency Test.
• The final selection is based on: Normalized written exam marks (Merit) + Order of Preference filled in the application + applicable Vertical & Horizontal reservation as per UP Government policy.
• In case two or more candidates score equal marks, tie-breaking is done as per the relevant service rules — in order of: reserved category eligibility, higher age, then alphabetical order of name (English alphabet).

• Click on the notification link for “उप निरीक्षक नागरिक पुलिस एवं समकक्ष पदों पर सीधी भर्ती-2025 का अन्तिम चयन परिणाम”
• Six lists (सूची-1 to सूची-6) are published for each of the four cadres: overall merit list, then category-wise (UR, EWS, OBC, SC, ST) selected candidate lists — all sorted by merit (best score first)
• Open the relevant post-wise PDF and use Ctrl+F / search to find your roll number
• To view your normalized score directly (available from 22 July 2026), submit your Registration Number and Date of Birth in the score-check link that will be published separately on the website
• Download and save/print the result PDF and your scorecard for future reference.

Why the Cutoff Went Up This Year — Quick Analysis

• Record applications: Nearly 15.76 lakh candidates applied for 4,543 posts — an extremely high applicant-to-vacancy ratio that pushed competition and merit levels up across all categories
• Normalization impact: With the exam spread across 4 shifts, normalization slightly narrowed score gaps between shifts, which tends to raise the effective cutoff compared to a single-shift exam
• Category trend: As expected, Unreserved and OBC categories show the closest cutoffs to each other in Civil Police (373.93 vs 369.29), while SC and ST cutoffs remain comparatively lower but still highly competitive versus previous UP SI cycles
