IMPORTANT: What This “Cut Off” Actually Means

Many portals are calling this the “SSC MTS Final Cut Off 2025-26,” but candidates should read the official notice carefully — as per SSC’s own wording, this is the declaration of the Computer Based Examination (CBE) result to shortlist candidates for PET/PST for the post of Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) only. Key clarifications:

• These are Session-II normalized cut-off marks used purely to shortlist candidates in a 1:7 (vacancy:candidate) ratio for the Havaldar Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST) — this is NOT the final selection cut-off
• The post of MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) has no PET/PST — the First Round of Tentative Allocation for both MTS and Havaldar will be declared together at a later stage, only after PET/PST for Havaldar is completed
• Candidates who do not qualify PET/PST will be dropped from Havaldar consideration, but if they were also shortlisted for MTS, their candidature for MTS remains valid and unaffected
• The true “final” cut-off (i.e., marks of the last selected candidate after PET/PST, document verification, and medical examination) will be released only with the Final Result, expected at a later stage

Tie-Resolution Criteria (Para-19 of Notice)

Where more than one candidate secured equal aggregate marks in Session-II, ties were resolved by applying the following methods in order, one after another, until resolved:

• Step 1: Normalized marks in General Awareness of Session-II
• Step 2: Total normalized marks in Session-I
• Step 3: Date of Birth — the older candidate gets preference
• Step 4: Alphabetical order of names

Withheld, Malpractice & Debarred Cases

• Result Withheld: Result of 2 candidates (Roll No. 125270001942 and 125270006713) has been kept withheld on account of suspicious activities
• Malpractice Cases: Based on post-examination analysis, 727 candidates were found indulging in malpractices in the CBE as per Para-20 of the Notice and the Commission’s Notice dated 10.09.2025 (Warning & Advisory Against Malpractices in CBE). Their results have not been processed (List-II). Aggrieved candidates may represent their case before the concerned Regional Office
• Debarred Candidates: Result of 169 candidates has been debarred by their respective Regional Office for various reasons (List-III)

Answer Key & Result Processing Notes

• Representations received from candidates regarding the provisional Answer Keys were carefully examined, and the Answer Keys were modified wherever necessary
• The Final Answer Keys have been used for evaluation of this result
• Final Answer Keys and marks of qualified/non-qualified candidates will be uploaded on the SSC website only after declaration of the final result of the examination (i.e., post PET/PST)
• Candidates have been shortlisted only against the vacancies of Post-cum-CCAs for which they gave their preference in the online Application Form (as per Para-17.5 of the Notice)

What Happens Next — Road to Final Result

• PET/PST Schedule: The schedule of PET/PST for the post of Havaldar will be made available on the SSC website “in due course” — keep checking regularly
• PET/PST Round: The 8,071 shortlisted candidates must appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) — this is a qualifying round for Havaldar only
• MTS Candidates Not Affected: Since MTS has no PET/PST requirement, MTS-track candidates simply await the tentative allocation stage
• First Round of Tentative Allocation: Will be declared together for both MTS and Havaldar posts, only after PET/PST for Havaldar is completed
• Final Result: The truly final cut-off (last-candidate-selected marks) will be published along with the Final Result, after document verification and medical examination stages are also completed
