SJVN 2026 Selection Process

• Stage 1: Scrutiny of Applications — Shortlisting based on Job Specifications mentioned in the notification
• Stage 2 (If Required): Screening Test — Qualifying in nature (50% for UR/EWS/ESM, 40% for other reserved categories); used only to restrict the number of candidates called for interview, no weightage in final merit
• Stage 3: Document Verification
• Stage 4: Personal Interview — Final merit is drawn purely on Interview performance; qualifying marks 50% for UR/EWS/ESM and 40% for reserved categories {SC/ST/PwBD/OBC(NCL)}
• Stage 5: Empanelment — Offer of appointment issued in order of category-wise merit, based on requirement
• Stage 6: Medical Fitness Clearance — Joining is subject to being declared medically fit as per SJVN’s extant medical rules

Important Points

• Candidates may appear for the Personal Interview in Hindi or English, as per their choice
• Experienced candidates with executive experience beyond the prescribed minimum may be considered for service weightage by the Selection Committee
• Candidates called for Interview are reimbursed 2nd Class AC Sleeper Rail/Bus Fare by shortest route as per SJVN rules
• Mere issuance of Interview Call Letter does not imply final acceptance of candidature — all stages are provisional, subject to satisfying eligibility conditions

How to Apply Online for SJVN Recruitment 2026

• Visit the official SJVN website — www.sjvn.nic.in and register in the “Career” section
• Ensure you have a valid, active E-mail ID and Mobile Number before registering (keep them active for at least one year)
• Fill in all details carefully — qualification, complete experience details separately for each organisation with pay details, and details of more than one post held within the same organisation, if applicable
• Correctly declare Name and Date of Birth exactly as per Birth Certificate/Matric Certificate, and declare category correctly
• Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph (white background, max 50 KB, .jpg) and signature in Blue/Black ink (max 50 KB, .jpg)
• Pay the application fee online (if applicable) — application is treated as complete only after fee submission
• Take a printout of the submitted Application Form (Preview)

Documents Required for SJVN Application 2026

• Educational/Professional Qualification Certificates & Mark-sheets
• Age Proof (Birth Certificate/Matric Certificate)
• Category Certificate — SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD/ESM, from Competent Authority, wherever applicable (OBC-NCL certificate must be in the prescribed GoI format, issued in FY 2026-27 or within the last 6 months)
• Experience Certificates in chronological order — appointment/offer letter, joining order, confirmation letter, promotion order, role assignment order, transfer order, service certificate, relieving letter, pay slips, etc.
• Certified Pay & PF slips for last 6 months (Govt./CPSE candidates) — for Private sector candidates: Form 16 & ITR of last 2 financial years, last pay certificate, CTC certificate on company letterhead, and 3-year average audited annual turnover proof
• Valid Photo ID (original — photocopies not accepted) for the Personal Interview
• No Objection Certificate (NOC), for candidates currently working under Central/State Govt./PSUs

Note: Only such PwBD candidates are eligible for reservation benefit whose specified disability is not less than 40%. No request for extension of time for producing certificates/documents beyond the interview date will be entertained.

Minimum Annual Turnover & CTC Verification Criteria (Private Sector Candidates)

• Minimum Annual Turnover requirement of the applying organisation: ₹2,500 Crore — average of the 3 audited financial years preceding the current year
• CTC verified from last pay certificate, salary & PF slips of last 6 months, and a certificate on the company letterhead clearly stating CTC break-up under different heads
• Form 16 & ITR of the last 2 financial years must also be submitted in support of emoluments claimed

About the Project — 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project

• SJVN Thermal Private Limited (STPL) is SJVN’s fully-owned subsidiary executing this Super Critical coal-based thermal power project at Buxar, Bihar
• Recruited executives will work in Erection/Commissioning and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) across functional areas such as TG & Auxiliaries, BOP & Auxiliaries, Fuel Management, Ash Utilization, Maintenance Planning, O&M Stores, Boiler & Auxiliaries, Main Plant Operation, IPH, GIS Switchyard, C&I Maintenance, Chemical, and Commercial
• SJVN began as a hydro-power company (built around the Nathpa Jhakri project) and has since diversified into thermal, solar, wind and transmission — this drive builds SJVN’s dedicated thermal-operations team
• This is largely a lateral-entry route for experienced professionals, not a fresher recruitment — every post requires prior executive experience in coal-based thermal power plants, specifically Super Critical units of 660 MW capacity or above
