Document Verification Schedule (Post-Wise)

Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)

• Age Range: 18–25 Years
• Date of Birth: Between 01.01.2001 and 01.01.2008
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates (subject to certificate submission at DV)
• Only candidates who passed their qualifying exam within the last 5 years (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) are eligible

Selection Process & Preference Criteria

• Selection is based purely on the aggregate percentage of marks across all semesters/years — no rounding off, and no weightage to any particular semester/year
• Tie-breaker: If two candidates have identical marks, the older candidate is preferred; if DOB also matches, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier is preferred
• First Preference: Land Loser candidates — those whose land (or their spouse’s/child’s/paternal grandchild’s) was acquired for the Konkan Railway Project
• Second Preference: Candidates from KRCL jurisdiction districts — Raigad, Ratnagiri & Sindhudurg (Maharashtra); North Goa & South Goa (Goa); Uttara Kannada, Udupi & Dakshina Kannada (Karnataka)

Physical Fitness & Medical Standards

• Minimum Height: 137 cms | Minimum Weight: 25.4 Kgs | Chest Expansion: Not less than 5 cms
• Vision: 6/9, 6/12 (with or without glasses); Binocular vision and Colour vision must be present
• Good hearing without suppurative disease; no hearing aid permitted
• Blood pressure should not exceed 140 systolic / 85 diastolic
• No serious deformity of spine/extremities, no nervous system or glandular disease
• Medical certificate must be issued by a Government Doctor not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon (Central/State Medical Services), in the prescribed format, and finally certified by KRCL’s Medical Authority. Medical examination expenses are borne by the candidate.

Documents Required at Document Verification (Originals)

• Mark sheets of all semesters/years along with Degree/Diploma certificate
• 10th Pass/Matriculation certificate (as Date of Birth proof)
• Approved NATS ID/registration proof
• Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL, in prescribed Central Government format), if claiming reservation
• Income & Asset Certificate (for EWS claim)
• Domicile Certificate
• Land Loser Certificate + Tehsildar Certificate + RTC documents (for Land Loser preference claim)
• Income Certificate (for processing fee waiver — EWS)
• Minority Community Declaration on non-judicial stamp paper (for fee waiver, if applicable)
• Aadhaar Card and PAN Card
• Two attested passport-size photographs
• Gazette Notification (in case of legal name change)
• Self-attested photocopies of all applicable documents

Contract of Apprenticeship — Key Terms

• Duration of training: One year as per the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973
• Place of training: Candidates may be deployed anywhere within KRCL’s jurisdiction
• It is not obligatory for KRCL to offer employment on completion of training, nor for the apprentice to accept any offer made
• If the contract is terminated due to the employer’s failure to fulfil terms, apprentice compensation is paid as prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules 1992
• If terminated due to the apprentice’s failure to fulfil terms, the candidate/surety must pay an amount determined by the Apprenticeship Adviser towards training cost

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Candidates must register on the NATS portal and hold a valid, approved NATS ID before appearing for Document Verification
• Registration on DV day is only between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs — report on time for your subject’s designated date
• Name, father’s name, and date of birth must match the Matriculation/SSC certificate exactly
• Keep your personal email ID active throughout — KRCL communicates only via email; no request for changing mobile number/email will be entertained
• Selection will be cancelled if original testimonials cannot be produced, or if any discrepancy is found at any stage
• Furnishing wrong/fake certificates will lead to termination of the training contract
• Canvassing or exerting pressure through any source, in any form, will disqualify the candidature without prior intimation
• No TA/DA is payable for attending Document Verification; no correspondence will be entertained for non-selected candidates
