Age Limit (As on Date of Interview)

• Teaching Faculty (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor/Tutor): Not exceeding 69 years
• Senior Resident: Not exceeding 45 years
• Age relaxation applicable as per prevailing Government of India (GOI) norms for reserved categories
• Retired/working Professors may also apply for eligible posts

Education & Experience Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification and experience norms are as per the latest NMC (National Medical Commission) norms for all advertised posts
• For Tutor posts, only candidates holding an MD in the concerned subject are eligible
• Candidates with MD/MS in a broad specialty will be considered against Senior Resident posts in superspeciality departments
• For Senior Resident (Emergency Medicine): Candidates with MD/MS in Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedics, Surgery, or Anaesthesia — OR with 2 years post-MBBS experience in any of these branches (including 1 year in Emergency Medicine) — are eligible
• For Assistant Professor (Emergency Medicine): Candidates with MD/MS in Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedics, Surgery, or Anaesthesia with relevant experience are eligible
• If no suitable MD/MS candidate is available, an MBBS candidate with 2 years’ relevant experience will be considered for Senior Resident posts
• Date for eligibility of qualifying degree/experience: as on the last date of application submission
• Candidates eligible for a higher post (e.g., Professor/Associate Professor) may also be interviewed for a lower post (e.g., Associate Professor/Assistant Professor) as per ESIC Hqrs. guidelines

• Download and fill the application form in the prescribed Performa only — applications in any other format or incomplete applications will be summarily rejected
• Attach self-attested scanned copies of all required supporting documents
• Attach the Demand Draft (if applicable, as per fee category) as the interview fee
• Attach proof of research publications along with proof of the indexing agency of the journal, wherever applicable
• Submit a separate application for each post if applying for more than one post

• Complete the email submission by Friday, 8 August 2026, for document verification
• Report in person for the walk-in interview on 12 August 2026, between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, with all original documents

• Punjab Medical Council / NMC Medical Registration Certificate (updated)
• Proof of publication(s), along with proof of the indexing agency of the journal
• Experience Certificate(s)
• Relieving / NOC Certificate from previous or current employer, if applicable
• Recent Passport-size Photograph
• Aadhaar Card
• Completion Certificate of ICMR/NMC-approved Basic Course in Biomedical Research, if applicable
• NMC-approved Revised Basic Course in Medical Education Technology Certificate, if applicable
• Valid EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwD Certificate issued in the format prescribed for Central Government jobs, wherever applicable

Note: All documents will be verified against originals before the interview — candidates must bring original certificates at the time of interview.

Selection Process

• Selection is based on the candidate’s academic credentials and their performance in the interview before the Selection Board
• There is no written test — the walk-in interview is the sole basis for selection
• Result will be displayed in the “Recruitments” section of the official website: www.mcludhiana.esic.gov.in
• The Offer of Appointment will be sent to selected candidates through email only
• Selected candidates must join as per the instructions mentioned in their offer of appointment

Terms of Contract

• The tenure of all faculty posts is initially for one year, extendable up to three years (renewed yearly based on performance), or till attainment of 70 years of age, or till the joining of a regular incumbent — whichever is earliest
• The contractual engagement may be terminated from either side with one month’s prior notice; in case of sudden resignation, one month’s salary must be deposited to the ESI account via challan
• Selected candidates must deposit a security deposit at the time of joining: ₹1,00,000 for regular contractual posts (forfeited if the candidate resigns within 6 months) and ₹50,000 for the 44-day tenure posts (forfeited if resignation occurs during the 44-day tenure)
• Faculty are entitled to 2.5 leaves per month
• No claim for service benefits like PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance/Benefits, or Seniority Promotion will be admissible, as this is a contractual appointment
• Absence from work for more than 7 days without proper permission will amount to voluntary abandonment and automatic termination
• Attendance must be marked manually as well as on the Aadhaar Enabled Bio-metric Attendance System (AEBAS) daily during scheduled working days
• No private practice is allowed in any capacity after joining at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana

Special Provision — 44-Day Vacant Reserved Category Posts

• Any candidate can be appointed against an unfilled vacant reserved category post for 44 days, with provision of possible extension, in view of essential hospital services
• In case reserved category candidates are not available for a post, the vacancy may be filled for less than 45 days from unreserved candidates, subject to carry-forward of reservation for PwD categories

Important Instructions & Notes

• Candidates must have up-to-date Medical Registration (NMC/Punjab Medical Council) for all post-MBBS/MD/MS qualifications; if not updated, they must show/submit proof of “Applied for Document(s)” at the interview, and update it before joining if selected
• Candidates working in Govt./Autonomous/Statutory institutions should preferably carry an NOC from their employer at the time of interview, or proof of “applied for NOC”; NOC must be obtained before or at the time of joining
• EWS candidates must submit the EWS Certificate as per Annexure-I of the DoPT Office Memorandum No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res), dated 31.01.2019
• The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate should not be issued more than 1 year prior to the date of interview, in the prescribed Central Government job format
• Mere submission of application does not confer any right to be interviewed — candidates must report in person on the scheduled date/time with the required documents
• Opportunity of interview is given on a provisional basis, subject to detailed scrutiny of eligibility criteria
• The Dean, ESIC MCH Ludhiana, reserves the right to cancel or postpone the recruitment process at any stage without assigning any reason
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the interview or for submission of documents
