🔴 Result Highlights — What Happened Today (12 August 2026)

• CSAB officially released the Special Round-II Seat Allotment Result 2026 along with the DASA Special Round-II Result on the same day
• This is the final and last round of CSAB Special Counselling 2026 — no further centralized rounds will follow after this for the NIT+ System
• Over 15,000 seats were reported vacant across central technical institutes going into the Special Rounds after JoSAA concluded
• The board simultaneously published Opening and Closing Ranks (OR-CR) for Round 2, showing category-wise cutoffs for every institute-course combination
• Since this is the concluding round, every allotment made in Round 2 is automatically treated as FREEZE — candidates cannot Slide, Float, or Surrender this seat
• Candidates must complete online reporting (willingness, document upload, IAF-II payment) by 14 August 2026, 5:00 PM, and physically report at the allotted institute between 13–18 August 2026

About CSAB Special Rounds 2026

CSAB Special Counselling is conducted after the regular JoSAA counselling ends, specifically to fill seats that remain vacant in NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, SPAs, and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) — collectively known as the NIT+ System. IITs are not part of this process. It gives candidates who missed a JoSAA seat, or who wish to try for a better institute/branch, one final structured opportunity using their JEE (Main) 2026 rank. Registration for CSAB Special Rounds is entirely fresh — any choices filled earlier during JoSAA counselling are not automatically carried forward and do not apply here.

CSAB Special 2026 is conducted in two rounds only — Round 1 and Round 2 — after which the process concludes for that admission cycle.

How to Check CSAB Special Round 2 Seat Allotment Result 2026

• Visit the official CSAB website — csab.nic.in
• Click on the notice link “CSAB Special Round-II Seat Allotment Result 2026” on the homepage
• Log in using your JEE (Main) 2026 Application Number, Password, and Security PIN
• Your allotted Institute, Branch/Course, Category and Quota will be displayed on the candidate dashboard
• Download and save/print the seat allotment letter and provisional admission letter for your records
• Also check the Opening and Closing Ranks (OR-CR) page published alongside the result to see the category-wise cutoff for your allotted (or desired) course

Willingness Options in Round 2 — Why Only FREEZE Applies

• In Round 1, candidates could choose from Freeze / Float / Slide / Surrender / Withdraw / Exit
• Because Round 2 is the last and final round of CSAB Special Counselling, there is no subsequent round to move to — so every seat allotted here is automatically deemed FREEZE
• Candidates who had chosen Float or Slide in Round 1 (instead of Freeze) remain in contention and could receive an upgraded seat in Round 2
• Candidates who had Frozen their Round 1 seat exit the counselling process at that stage and are not considered again in Round 2
• Candidates with a JoSAA seat already in hand (Type-6) who did not select any willingness option are automatically moved forward with FLOAT as default (or FREEZE if their Choice 1 was allotted)

Institute Admission Fee-II (IAF-II) — Payment Details

• IAF-II is payable only once — in whichever round a candidate first receives a CSAB seat
• Payment is mandatory regardless of the willingness option (Freeze/Float/Slide) exercised
• Type-6 candidates — those who already secured a JoSAA seat by paying the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) — are exempted from paying IAF-II again
• Accepted payment modes: Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, e-Challan, and Common Service Centre (CSC)
• Non-payment of IAF-II within the deadline is treated as rejection of the allotted seat, ending eligibility for further CSAB rounds
• Always verify the exact fee amount shown on your own CSAB portal dashboard, as it may adjust based on category or prior fee payments during JoSAA

Online Reporting Process — Step by Step

• Log in to csab.nic.in with your JEE Main application number and password
• Check your allotted institute, course, and category on the dashboard
• Exercise your willingness option — in Round 2, this is automatically recorded as FREEZE
• Upload the required documents (not needed again if already verified during JoSAA 2026 Rounds 1–5)
• Pay the Institute Admission Fee-II (IAF-II) online, if this is your first CSAB seat
• Track your document verification status on the portal and respond promptly to any query raised by the Document Verifying Officer (deadline: 17 August 2026)
• Once confirmed, download your final Allotment Letter and Provisional Admission Letter
• Important: Failing to complete willingness, document upload, and IAF-II payment within the deadline is treated as rejection of the offer, and the seat cannot be reclaimed afterward

Physical Reporting at the Allotted Institute

• After completing online reporting, confirmed candidates must physically report at their allotted institute between 13 August and 18 August 2026
• Carry all original documents (10th & 12th marksheets/certificates, JEE Main scorecard, category/PwD/EWS certificates as applicable, ID proof, photographs) along with self-attested photocopies
• Carry the printed Allotment Letter, Provisional Admission Letter, and proof of IAF-II fee payment
