CGPSC Assistant Librarian Model Answer Key 2026 – Overview

The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has released the official Model Answer Key for the Assistant Librarian Preliminary Examination 2026 on 28 July 2026. The exam was conducted on 26 July 2026 across centres in Bilaspur, Durg-Bhilai and Raipur districts. Candidates who appeared in the exam can now download the model answer key for all sets (A, B, C, D) and raise objections online if they find any discrepancy.

This is a crucial stage as the final answer key (after considering valid objections) will be used to prepare the result and shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. Prelims marks are qualifying in nature and will not be added to the final merit list.

How to Raise Objection Against Model Answer Key

• Objections can be submitted only online through the candidate login on the CGPSC portal. Offline objections will not be accepted.
• Login to your candidate dashboard using registered email ID and password.
• Go to the Activity Section → Objection Filing.
• Select the exam name, question paper set, and the specific question number.
• Choose the type of objection from the available options.
• Write a clear reason and upload supporting proof (PDF, maximum 1 MB per question). Proof must mention source name, author, edition/publication date and page number. Mere website links are not accepted.
• You can raise multiple objections in one session. After filling all objections, click Save.
• Pay the fee of ₹50 per question online.
• After successful payment, download the acknowledgement receipt from the dashboard.
• Important: Only one opportunity is given to submit all objections. Once fee is paid, you cannot file objections again.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Library Science / Library and Information Science from a recognized University.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years (general)
• For permanent residents of Chhattisgarh: Maximum age 40 Years
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) of Chhattisgarh – 5 Years
  • Local Women of Chhattisgarh – 10 Years
  • Permanent/Temporary Employees of CG Government – 5 Years
  • Maximum age with all relaxations: 45 Years

Selection Process 2026

• Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination (Objective, Qualifying): 100 MCQs | 100 Marks | 2 Hours. Subjects include Library Science, English, Hindi, General Mathematics, Computer, Reasoning, General Knowledge & Chhattisgarh GK. Candidates shortlisted in the ratio of 1:15 for Mains. Prelims marks are not counted in final merit.
• Stage 2 – Main Examination (Written/Descriptive): 100 Marks | 3 Hours. Focus on Library Science subjects.
• Stage 3 – Viva-Voce (Interview): Maximum 15 Marks. Candidates shortlisted in the ratio of 1:3 against vacancies.
• Final Merit: Based on marks obtained in Main Examination + Viva-Voce only.
