Important Dates 2026

• Class 12 Main Result Declared: 13 May 2026
• Originally Notified Exam Date: 15 July 2026
• Online LOC Submission Window: 30 June – 8 July 2026

Who Can Appear — Eligibility

• Students placed in the Compartment category in the 2026 Class 12 result after failing exactly one subject
• Students appearing for the Compartment for a second consecutive time in the same subject, under CBSE’s multi-attempt rule
• Students on their third/final compartment chance (those who first appeared in 2025) — these candidates can appear only as private candidates, not through school LOC
• Improvement of Performance candidates who passed all subjects but wish to raise their score in exactly one subject; the better of the two attempts is counted as final
• Students who failed in three or more subjects fall under the “Essential Repeat” category and are not eligible — they must repeat the full academic year
• A minimum of 33% overall in the main examination was required to be eligible for compartment status in the first place

How Regular Students Get Their Admit Card

• Regular students cannot download their admit card directly — only the school can access it
• School logs in to the Pariksha Sangam portal using its Affiliation Number and existing password
• School downloads the admit cards for all eligible compartment/improvement students under its login
• Principal/authorised staff must verify all details, affix the school seal, and sign each admit card before distribution to students
• Students should collect their signed admit card from school well ahead of the 28 July exam date

How Private Candidates Download Their Admit Card

• Visit the official CBSE website — www.cbse.gov.in or parikshasangam.cbse.gov.in
• Locate the Class 12 Compartment/Supplementary Exam 2026 Admit Card link once it is activated
• Log in using your application/registration number and date of birth
• Submit the details and your admit card will be displayed on screen
• Download and print the admit card in good quality — carrying a blurred or partial printout may not be accepted at the centre
• Do not enter your credentials on any unofficial or third-party website claiming to release the admit card early

Exam Pattern & Passing Criteria

• The Supplementary Exam follows the same syllabus, question paper pattern, and marking scheme as the main Class 12 board exam held earlier in 2026 — there is no reduced syllabus for the compartment attempt
• Candidates appear only in the specific subject(s) they need to clear, on the single exam day of 28 July 2026
• A minimum of 33% marks is required to clear the subject, calculated across theory, practical, and internal assessment components as applicable
• Where a subject has both theory and practical components, the 33% threshold generally applies to each component separately — candidates should check their own subject-wise breakup rather than assume only the total matters

What Happens After the Exam

• If you clear the subject: CBSE issues a consolidated marksheet showing your original main-exam marks in all other subjects along with your new supplementary marks — this becomes your final valid Class 12 marksheet, including for college admissions
• If you don’t clear it: You remain eligible for a further attempt in the next compartment cycle, subject to CBSE’s overall attempt limit — students typically get up to three total attempts (including the main exam) before being required to repeat the year
• Improvement category candidates: The better of the two scores (main exam vs. supplementary attempt) is considered final regardless of the outcome

Last-Minute Preparation & Exam Day Tips

• Since the syllabus and pattern are identical to the main exam, revise from the same NCERT textbooks, previous sample papers, and your original exam notes
• Download and print your admit card as soon as it is released — do not wait until the last day, in case of technical glitches on the portal
• Cross-check your name, subject code, and exam centre on the admit card immediately, and report any discrepancy to your school or CBSE without delay
• Reach the exam centre well before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card
• Carry a valid photo ID along with the admit card — entry is not permitted without both
• Since results are expected only in late August, keep an eye on your target college’s admission deadlines and inform them in advance if your result may be delayed
