Facilities for PwBD Candidates

  • Visually impaired candidates and those with permanently affected writing speed may use their own scribe (arranged and paid for by the candidate) during the online examination
  • Candidates using a scribe are eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination
  • Visually impaired candidates (40%+ disability) may also opt to view test content in magnified font
  • A compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour is also permitted for candidates with locomotor disability and cerebral palsy where the dominant writing hand is affected (minimum 40% impairment)
  • For candidates with less than 40% disability but difficulty in writing (covered under Section 2(s) but not 2(r) of the RPWD Act, 2016), the scribe/compensatory time facility is granted only on production of a certificate from a competent medical authority as per the prescribed proforma (Appendix-I), along with a joint undertaking (Appendix-II)
  • The scribe’s qualification must be one step below that of the candidate, and a scribe cannot serve two candidates for the same exam
