MECON Draftsman — Age Limit & Cut-Off Date

• Minimum age limit for all categories of candidates: 18 Years, as on the date of advertisement (27 May 2026)
• The cut-off date for deciding both age and work experience is 27 May 2026 — the date of advertisement, not the closing date of application

How Work Experience Is Defined & Verified

• Experience must be of a relevant nature with a drafting/engineering organization
• For intermittent-nature jobs, only the actual number of days engaged in relevant work will count toward the total experience
• Freelance experience will not be considered, as it cannot establish a verified number of years of full-time work
• Entrepreneurial experience will not be considered for ascertaining required experience
• Apprenticeship period under the Apprentices Act will be considered toward the required experience
• For Past Employment: Candidates must submit experience certificates clearly showing date of joining, date of relieving, nature of duties, and relevance to the applied post — experience without a certificate will not be counted
• For Current Employment: Candidates must submit an Experience Certificate, or Offer/Appointment Letter/Pay Slip/ID Card showing date of joining, plus proof of continuity such as the last 3 months’ pay slips
• Self-declaration of experience/job nature will not be accepted under any circumstances

MECON Draftsman Selection Process 2026

• Stage 1 — Screening/Shortlisting: Applications are scrutinized against the information, declaration, and supporting documents submitted online
• Stage 2 — Personal Interview & Hands-on Test: Shortlisted candidates appear for a Personal Interview combined with a practical Hands-on drafting test; the mode of selection may be changed at Management’s discretion
• The shortlist for interview, along with date, time, and venue, will be uploaded on MECON’s website and communicated via the registered email ID only
• Stage 3 — Document Verification & Medical Examination: The final list of selected candidates will be uploaded on MECON’s website, and candidates will be intimated about verification and medical examination through email/website only

Contract Duration, Remuneration & Incentives

Other Benefits & Facilities

• Leave: 1.5 days per month, i.e., a maximum of 18 days in a year
• Weekly Off/Closed Holiday: As applicable to regular employees
• Medical Facilities: For self, spouse, and 2 dependent children, available at Ispat Hospital only
• Accommodation/HRA: Company residential accommodation subject to availability at Shyamali Colony on a rental basis; if not availed, House Rent Allowance (HRA) at 5% of contract fee is paid instead
• Working Hours: Normal company working hours, or as decided by the competent authority
• Medical Examination: Mandatory before rendering services; deployment is subject to being found medically fit, and candidates must maintain valid medical insurance for the duration of engagement

Travelling Allowance (TA) for Interview

• Outstation candidates appearing for the Personal Interview will be reimbursed TA for III Tier A/C (3A)/CC by rail, or ₹7 per Km by road, or at actual — whichever is less
• TA is subject to production of receipt/ticket and/or boarding pass; rail fare will be regular fare only (no premium/Tatkal)
• If any claim made in the application is not substantiated on the date of interview, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the interview/test, and no TA will be paid
• Outstation candidates must submit the filled TA form along with proof of travel (onward and return tickets), bank account number, and IFSC code for TA payment
