Age Limit (As Applicable)

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 32 Years (as reckoned on the cut-off date fixed by BSE Odisha for this cycle)
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, Female and SEBC candidates; 10 years for PwD candidates
• Ex-servicemen: Age relaxation as per applicable Government of Odisha rules/notification

How to Apply Online for OSSTET 2026

• Visit the official website — www.bseodisha.ac.in
• Look for the “OSSTET 2026 Online Application” link on the homepage (link is active 24×7 from 03.08.2026 to midnight 17.08.2026)
• Register using your Name, Mobile Number and Email ID to generate login credentials
• Log in and carefully fill in personal details, address, category/caste, and the subject/category (Paper I or Paper II) you wish to appear for
• Upload required documents/photographs as per the prescribed format and size given in the guidelines
• Fill in educational qualification details as per the eligibility criteria for the chosen subject
• Verify every entry carefully before final submission — personal data, address, caste and subject CANNOT be changed once submitted
• Pay the applicable application fee online through the payment gateway
• Submit the form and download/print the system-generated application form and payment receipt for future reference

• Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/PAN/Passport/Driving Licence)
• 10th Standard Marksheet & Certificate (Date of Birth Proof)

Important Notification Conditions — Read Before Applying

• Applications are accepted ONLINE only — no offline/postal applications will be entertained
• The online application link will remain open 24×7 from 03.08.2026 till midnight of 17.08.2026
• The last date for submission of application forms will NOT be extended under any circumstances — candidates should not wait till the last day
• If any information furnished by a candidate is found to be false or fake, the candidature/result will be cancelled and the candidate will be liable for prosecution as per rule
• Personal data, address, caste and subject details, once submitted during registration, cannot be changed later — double-check every field before final submission

Why OSSTET Matters — Purpose & Validity

• OSSTET is not a direct recruitment exam — it does not carry a fixed number of vacancies or posts
• Qualifying OSSTET makes a candidate eligible to apply when the Government of Odisha or the concerned school management notifies actual Secondary School Teacher recruitment (Government/Government-Aided/Recognised Unaided schools, Classes IX–XII)
• Merely clearing OSSTET does not guarantee a teaching job — candidates still need to apply separately and compete in the recruitment process whenever vacancies are announced
• The OSSTET pass certificate is generally treated as a standing eligibility qualification, similar to other State TET exams, though candidates should confirm current validity rules from BSE Odisha

OSSTET 2026 Preparation Tips

• Child Development, Pedagogy, School Management & Evaluation carries the highest weightage after the subject-specific section (50 out of 150 marks) — dedicate solid preparation time here even if you have a strong subject background
• Subject-specific content (60 marks) should be prepared from your graduation-level syllabus for the chosen teaching subject — refer to standard degree-level textbooks
• Odia Language section: Practice grammar, comprehension and translation, since this is compulsory for all candidates
• English Language section: Focus on grammar, comprehension passages and vocabulary
• Since there is no negative marking, attempt all 150 questions — do not leave any question unanswered
• Solve previous years’ OSSTET question papers to understand the difficulty level and recurring topics
• Keep the qualifying percentage in mind (60% General / 50% Reserved categories) and set your target score accordingly while practicing mock tests
