AAI NSCBI Airport Apprentice Recruitment 2026 — What’s Announced

The Office of the Airport Director, Airports Authority of India (AAI), Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport, Kolkata has notified the engagement of Graduate, Diploma, and ITI Trade Apprentices (under the Apprentices Act, 1961) for FY 2026-27. Applications are invited only from eligible candidates domiciled in West Bengal for a one-year Apprenticeship Training Program. AAI (Schedule ‘A’, Miniratna Category-1 PSU) was formed by merger of the erstwhile National Airports Authority and International Airports Authority of India on 1 April 1995, and is responsible for civil aviation infrastructure across India. During the apprenticeship, candidates will be governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended) and applicable AAI policies/rules.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate Apprentice: Full-time (regular) 4-year Engineering degree in the relevant/equivalent stream, recognized by AICTE, Government of India
  • Diploma Apprentice: Full-time (regular) 3-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant/equivalent stream, recognized by AICTE, Government of India
  • ITI Trade Apprentice: ITI NCVT Certificate in the relevant/equivalent trade/specialization, awarded by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India

Eligibility Criteria

  • Domicile: Only Indian citizens with domicile of West Bengal are eligible
  • Year of Passing: Only candidates who passed their Degree/Diploma/ITI in 2022 or after 2022 are eligible
  • Age Limit (as on 24.08.2026): Minimum 18 years, Maximum 26 years — upper age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories as per Government of India guidelines
  • Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship, discontinued it midway, or are currently pursuing apprenticeship elsewhere (or in AAI) with the same qualification level are NOT eligible
  • Candidates who already have 1 year or more of apprenticeship training/job experience after acquiring the essential qualification are NOT eligible
  • Candidates can apply for only ONE discipline/subject — applications for more than one discipline will be rejected

Mode of Selection

  • Graduate/Diploma vacancies are advertised only through the BOPT/NATS website
  • ITI Trade Apprentice vacancies are advertised only through the RDAT/NAPS website
  • Only nominations received from the official BOPT/NATS and RDAT/NAPS websites will be considered for provisional selection
  • Provisional selection is based on the percentage (%) of marks obtained in the required educational qualification — there is no written exam or interview at the shortlisting stage
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview/Document Verification only through their registered email ID
  • Final selection is based on Interview/Certificate Verification and submission of a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of joining

  • For ITI Trade Apprentice: Visit apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, register as a Candidate, and find the same establishment using Establishment ID E06161900020
  • Click the “Apply” button on the opportunity page — on successful submission, you’ll see: “Successfully applied for the training position. Based on availability, you will be contacted by the establishment”

  • Step 1: Register at moenats.aicte-india.org/student_register.php with Basic Details (Name, Father/Mother’s Name, Aadhaar No.), Educational Details (Course/Institute), Communication Info (Address, Mobile), Training Preference, and Bank Details
  • Step 2: Complete your Student Profile in 5 sections: Basic Details, Education Details, Communication Information, Training Preferences, and Bank Details
  • Step 3: Search “Apprenticeship Opportunities” on your dashboard and apply against AAI’s listed vacancy (Industry Name, Post Title, State, District, Vacancies, Last Date to Apply are shown)
  • Step 4: Track your application under “Application Management” — status changes from “Applied” to “Contract Sent for Approval of BOAT” once the establishment initiates a contract

What Happens During the Apprenticeship

  • Selected candidates undergo a structured, hands-on On-the-Job-Training (OJT) at NSCBI Airport, Kolkata, under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) 2.0 framework
  • Apprentices are governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 (with rules made thereunder and amendments), plus AAI’s own policies during the training period
