IGCAR Apprentice Stipend 2026 (Official)
ITI Qualification Duration Monthly Stipend
2-Year ITI Course ₹11,040/- per month
1-Year ITI Course ₹10,560/- per month
As per Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2025, Gazette Notification No. G.S.R. 610(E) dated 03.09.2025, issued by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Key Eligibility Conditions (Must Read)

  • Candidate must hold an ITI certificate in the SAME trade as listed in the vacancy table above
  • Only ONE trade can be applied for per candidate — multiple applications are not accepted
  • Candidates who have already undergone (fully or partially) or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act 1961 in ANY Government/PSU/Private Industrial Organization are NOT eligible
  • Engagement is subject to qualifying the standard medical examination prescribed by the Competent Authority
  • Selected candidates must submit a Police Verification Certificate from their local police station at the time of Document Verification

Selection Process — No Written Test

  • Stage 1: Candidate must possess the ITI certificate in the relevant trade as listed above
  • Stage 2: Shortlisting purely on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the ITI course
  • Tie-Breaker 1: Higher percentage in 10th standard (8th standard ONLY for Welder, Carpenter/Wood Work Technician, Mason/Civil Mistry, and Plumber trades)
  • Tie-Breaker 2: If still tied, the candidate born earlier (older) is given preference
  • Stage 3: Mandatory Document Verification — failure to appear leads to automatic cancellation of candidature
  • Stage 4: Standard Medical Examination fitness clearance
  • Final Step: Selected list for each trade published on igcar.gov.in under “Opportunities → Recruitment”

Important: No TA/DA (travel allowance) will be paid for attending Document Verification or Medical Examination.
