Only candidates who already appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 and hold a valid PET score card are eligible to apply. Shortlisting for the Mains is done based on the candidate’s normalised PET score, in merit order — candidates will be shortlisted category-wise up to 15 times the number of notified vacancies (including all candidates tied at the last cut-off score, up to 2 decimal places). Candidates who scored zero or negative marks (absolute or normalised) in PET 2025 will not be shortlisted for the Mains, regardless of overall eligibility.

  • Candidates under investigation (UI) or provisionally marked (Provisional) in the PET 2025 result remain conditionally permitted to apply for the Mains, subject to the outcome of the Commission’s ongoing inquiry into their case
