⚠️ Most Important Eligibility Rule — Read This First

• Only candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 and have been issued a valid PET-2025 Score Card by the Commission can apply for this Main Examination
• Shortlisting for this Main Exam is done purely on the basis of your normalized PET-2025 score, in merit order
• Candidates with a zero or negative normalized/absolute PET-2025 score will NOT be shortlisted for this Main Exam, regardless of interest or other qualifications
• If you did not appear in PET-2025, you are not eligible to apply for this recruitment under any circumstance
• Candidates whose PET-2025 result is marked “Under Investigation (UI)” or “Provisional” by the Commission may apply conditionally, but their shortlisting and selection will remain subject to the outcome of that ongoing verification

Critical Note: No application or fee will be accepted after 07 October 2026. If your bank fee reconciliation is not completed by this date, you have until 14 October 2026 to complete it — after which your application printout cannot be generated at all. Candidates may also modify certain permissible details in their application only within this 14 October 2026 window.

Educational Qualification

Mandatory Qualification:

• Passed High School (10th) examination from the UP Board of Secondary Education, or an equivalent examination recognized by the Government; AND
• A 3-year Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, or an equivalent qualification recognized as such and approved by AICTE

Preferential Qualification (Tie-breaker advantage, other things being equal):

• Minimum 2 years of service in the Territorial Army; OR
• Holder of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) “B” Certificate

Age Limit

• Candidate must have completed 18 years and must not have exceeded 40 years of age as on 1 July of the calendar year in which the vacancies were notified for direct recruitment
• Upper age relaxation is admissible for SC, ST, and other notified categories as per prevailing Uttar Pradesh Government rules and orders

Selection Process — How You Get Shortlisted & Selected

• Step 1 (Already Completed): Candidates appeared in PET-2025 and received a normalized score card
• Step 2 (Current Stage): Eligible PET-2025 candidates register and submit their online application for this Main Exam by 07 October 2026
• Step 3 — Shortlisting: Category-wise, candidates are shortlisted for the Main Exam at approximately 15 times the number of advertised vacancies per category, based on descending normalized PET-2025 score (down to 2 decimal places at the cutoff)
• Step 4 — Main Written Examination: Only shortlisted candidates appear for the Main Exam — date to be announced separately
• Step 5 — Final Selection: Selection is based solely on the Main (written) Examination — there is no interview in this recruitment process
• If the Main Exam is conducted across multiple shifts/days, a score normalization procedure will be applied for fair comparative evaluation, as per the Commission’s established 22 May 2019 methodology

Main Exam Pattern 2026

Full Syllabus — Part-1: Subject-Related Knowledge (13 Topics, 5 Marks Each)

1. Farm Power Engineering & Non-Conventional Sources of Energy: Sources of power on farms, comparative study and uses, limitations, and brief description of animal, fossil fuel (diesel/petrol), wind, solar, biogas, and electric power
2. I.C. Engines: Principles of heat engines, operating principles, classification, two-stroke/four-stroke engines, diesel and petrol engines, stationary/reciprocating/rotary parts, related numerical problems, engine performance
3. Tractor: Classification and adaptability, factors affecting selection, overview of makes/models/HP ranges, operating costs of small petrol/diesel engines and tractors
4. Non-Conventional Energy — Biogas Technology: Introduction to biogas, production, biodigestion of plant/animal waste, reactions during biodigestion, gases produced, elimination of unwanted gases (CO2, H2S), factors affecting production, efficiency in winter, uses
5. Wind Engineering & Solar Energy Technology: Types of windmills (vertical/horizontal axis), uses, site selection, operation & maintenance, solar radiation potential in India, applications, solar collectors
6. Post-Harvest Technology & Agro-Waste Industries — Introduction: Importance of grain/seed processing, principles of agricultural processing, sequence of operations, services offered to farmers (wheat, maize, paddy, soybean)

How to Apply Online for UPSSSC JE Agriculture Main Exam 2026

• Visit the official UPSSSC website — upsssc.gov.in — and locate this advertisement under the Live Advertisement segment on the homepage
• Login using your PET-2025 Registration Number — an OTP will be sent to your mobile number/email registered with PET-2025 for authentication
• Your personal details from PET-2025 (name, parentage, category, EWS, horizontal reservation details, DOB, gender, marital status, contact details) will auto-populate
• Fill in the mandatory educational qualification details as specified in the advertisement — Yes/No selection, board/institution name, year of passing, certificate number, and marks
• Enter the verification code and click Submit — your application form with an 11-digit registration number will be generated; print and keep a copy safely
• Your photo and signature from PET-2025 will auto-display and cannot be modified
• Select Yes/No for any preferential qualification (Territorial Army/NCC ‘B’ Certificate), if applicable
• Review the declaration carefully, tick the checkbox, enter the verification code, and click Save and Submit
• Pay the ₹25 fee via Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or SBI e-Challan — your application is auto-submitted upon successful payment
• Download and print your final submitted application form for your records

Note: If your fee payment succeeds but the application form doesn’t display, use the “Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification” option under the Applicant Segment on the homepage to reconcile your payment and complete submission.

Application Correction Window — What Can Be Modified

• Corrections are allowed only until 14 October 2026, via the Applicant’s Dashboard, using your PET-2025 registration number and OTP login
• Permitted modifications: Correspondence address; other personal details like EWS status and horizontal reservation category (DFF, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Gender, Outstanding Sportsperson); mandatory/preferential qualification details; and marital status
• No other detail beyond the above can be modified in the application
• Persons with Disabilities must ensure their disability type/sub-type is correctly updated per the latest UP Government orders (up to 30 April 2026) ensuring 4% horizontal reservation across Groups Ka/Kha/Ga/Gha
• After the 14 October 2026 deadline, absolutely no correction is possible under any circumstance, and no individual representation will be accepted by the Commission in this regard

Key General Instructions from the Official Advertisement

• Reservation benefits under UP rules apply only to candidates who are original/permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh — candidates from other states are treated as Unreserved regardless of their category elsewhere
• EWS applicants must possess a valid EWS certificate issued between 01 April 2026 and 07 October 2026, based on FY 2025–26 income (below ₹8 lakh) and valid for FY 2026–27, in the prescribed proforma
• For women candidates, only the caste certificate issued from the father’s side is considered valid for category claims
• The Commission does not advise candidates on their eligibility — candidates must carefully read the advertisement and apply only if fully satisfied they meet all conditions
• Providing false information, or facts that cannot be substantiated by valid certificates, can lead to debarment from this and future Commission exams/selections
• The exam will be governed by the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 — malpractice, impersonation, or canvassing can lead to disqualification, debarment, and police action
• A married male candidate with more than one living spouse, or a woman who married such a man, is not eligible unless specifically exempted by the Governor

Preparation Strategy for the Main Exam

• Part-1 dominates the paper at 65 out of 100 marks — prioritise your Agricultural Engineering core subjects (Farm Power, IC Engines, Tractors, Irrigation & Drainage, Soil Conservation) well ahead of the other two parts
• Irrigation-related topics carry the heaviest cumulative weight within Part-1 — Irrigation & Drainage Introduction, Water Requirement of Plants, Irrigation Methods & Minor Irrigation, and Soil/Water Conservation together span 4 of the 13 topics (20 marks) — study these as a connected unit rather than in isolation
• Part-2 (Computer/IT) is a relatively easy 15 marks if you cover the basics systematically — don’t skip it assuming it’s “just GK,” since dedicated revision here yields quick, reliable marks
• Part-3 (UP GK) rewards consistent, focused revision of Uttar Pradesh-specific history, culture, geography, and current affairs — avoid relying only on generic national-level GK material
• With ¼ negative marking, avoid guesswork on Part-1’s technical numerical/conceptual questions where you’re genuinely unsure — a wrong technical answer costs the same as a wrong GK guess
• Since this is a Diploma-level technical syllabus, revising your original Agricultural Engineering diploma coursework notes (especially IC Engines, Tractors, and Farm Machinery) can be more efficient than starting from generic online material
