Mode of Selection — Step by Step

  • Step 1 — Provisional Selection: Based purely on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination — there is no written test or aptitude exam for this drive
  • Tie-Breaker: In case of equal marks percentage, candidates are ranked by Date of Birth first, then Date of Passing as seniority criteria
  • CGPA Conversion: If your result is in CGPA, it will be converted to a percentage as per your Board/University’s own official norms
  • Step 2 — Document Verification: Eligible candidates are called for document verification at the establishment office — communication happens only through registered email IDs
  • Step 3 — Interview/Verification: Shortlisted candidates are called for Interview and/or further Document Verification, again via registered email only
  • Step 4 — Medical Fitness: Final selection requires submission of a Medical Fitness Certificate (obtainable only from a Government Medical Officer or a Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking) at the time of joining
  • Step 5 — Engagement Letter: Only after successful document verification and medical fitness clearance is the apprentice engagement letter issued

Important: Merely being shortlisted or attending document verification/interview does NOT guarantee selection — final confirmation depends entirely on successful verification and medical fitness.

Why This Apprenticeship Is Worth Considering

  • AAI is a Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise — a year of hands-on exposure to real civil aviation infrastructure operations looks strong on any fresher’s resume, regardless of whether it converts to a permanent role
  • Graduate and Diploma stipends are relatively competitive for an apprenticeship (₹15,000 and ₹12,000 respectively), partly subsidized by the Government via DBT
  • A wide spread of technical and non-technical disciplines (Civil, Electrical, Electronics, IT, Aeronautical, Architecture, Mechanical, Commerce, and ITI trades) means most fresh graduates/diploma holders/ITI pass-outs from these fields have a genuine shot
  • Selection is purely marks-based with no written exam — meaning your academic performance record is what counts most, not last-minute exam prep
