About CG Teacher (TGT) Recruitment 2026

The Directorate of Public Instruction, Chhattisgarh has invited online applications for 1,654 Teacher posts (E and T Cadre) in government schools, covering six subjects — Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Mathematics, Social Science, and Agriculture. This is the TGT-equivalent (Trained Graduate Teacher / Shikshak Varg-2) recruitment in Chhattisgarh, meant for teaching at the middle/secondary school level. The written exam (LST26) is being conducted by the Chhattisgarh Karmachari Chayan Mandal (CGSSB), formerly known as CG Vyapam.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet any one of the following qualifications, along with subject-wise graduation requirements applicable to the chosen post:

• Graduation + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.)
• Graduation with minimum 50% marks + B.Ed.
• Graduation with minimum 45% marks + B.Ed., as per applicable NCTE norms
• Higher Secondary (12th) with minimum 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed./B.A.B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed.
• Graduation with minimum 50% marks + 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)
• Must have qualified the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), as prescribed by NCTE

CG Teacher (LST26) Exam Pattern 2026

• The exam consists of 100 objective-type questions, carrying 1 mark each — total 100 marks
• Total exam duration: 2 hours (10:00 AM to 12:15 PM)
• Each question has four options; candidates must fully darken one circle using a blue or black ballpoint pen on the OMR sheet
• Negative Marking: 1/4 mark is deducted for a wrong answer or for marking more than one option
• Unattempted questions are awarded zero marks
• Document verification, final selection, and appointment are handled separately by the recruiting department (Directorate of Public Instruction) and are outside CGSSB’s scope

Important Exam-Day Instructions

• Report to the exam centre at least 2 hours before the exam for verification and frisking
• Main gate closes 30 minutes before exam start (9:30 AM); no entry allowed after this
• Carry admit card, a black/blue ballpoint pen, and an original photo ID (Voter ID, Driving Licence, PAN, or Aadhaar)
• Wear light-coloured, half-sleeve clothing; dark colours like black, dark blue, dark green, purple, maroon, dark chocolate are not permitted
• Wear slippers/sandals; ear ornaments of any kind are not allowed
• Communication devices, electronic devices, purses, pouches, scarves, belts, and caps are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall
• Leaving the exam room during the first and last 30 minutes of the exam is not permitted
• Objections to the provisional answer key can be raised online only, with a fee of ₹50 per question and supporting evidence
• Re-checking/re-evaluation of OMR sheets is not permitted, as evaluation is machine-based
