• Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has invited online applications for 250 vacancies for the post of Local Bank Officer (LBO) in JMGS-I under Advt. No. HRDD/RECT/02/2026-27 dated 07.08.2026

Application Fee

Selection Process 2026-27

• Stage 1: Online Examination — 140 objective-type questions, 200 marks, 3 hours
• Stage 2: Language Proficiency Test (LPT) — only for candidates who have not studied the applied state’s local language in 10th or 12th standard
• Stage 3: Personal Interview — 100 Marks
• Final selection is based on combined scores of Online Examination and Personal Interview in the ratio of 80:20

Important Points

• No sectional qualifying marks in the online exam; however, minimum qualifying aggregate is 30% for reserved candidates and 35% for unreserved candidates
• Minimum qualifying marks in Interview: 45% for reserved candidates, 50% for unreserved candidates
• Minimum aggregate score of Online Exam + Interview combined: 30% for reserved, 35% for unreserved categories
• Candidates who fail to qualify the Language Proficiency Test will not be considered for further selection
• Merit list is prepared state-wise and category-wise — no change of state/category is permitted after registration

Language Proficiency Test (LPT) — Key Details

• Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the local language of the state they apply for
• Candidates who have NOT studied the local language as a subject in 10th or 12th standard will need to appear for the LPT before the Personal Interview
• Candidates who produce a 10th/12th standard marksheet showing the specified local language as a subject studied are exempted from LPT
• Failing to qualify the LPT disqualifies the candidate from further selection stages, including the Personal Interview

PwBD Reservation & Special Provisions

• Reservation is available under Section 34 of The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, for categories: Orthopedically Challenged (OC), Visual Impairment (VI), Hearing Impaired (HI), and Intellectual Disability (ID)
• Only candidates with Benchmark Disability (minimum 40%) are eligible for reservation, certified by a Competent Authority
• PwBD candidates using a Scribe are eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination
• Visually Impaired candidates may opt to view exam content in magnified font (compensatory time applies, but not combinable with scribe facility)
• Candidates with locomotor disability/cerebral palsy affecting their writing hand are also eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour

• Benefit requires an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority in the prescribed Government of India format
