Selection Process — Three Phases (No Interview)

  • Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online) — Qualifying stage only; marks NOT counted in final merit. Test: 100 marks, 1 hour duration. Sections: English Language (30), Numerical Ability (35), Reasoning Ability (35). Negative marking: 1/4 mark per wrong answer. No minimum cut-offs for individual sections.
  • Phase-II: Main Examination (Online) — Final merit prepared based on Main exam + bonus (if applicable). Test: 200 marks, 2 hours 40 minutes duration. Sections: General/Financial Awareness (50 marks, 35 min), General English (40 marks, 35 min), Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks, 45 min), Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude (60 marks, 45 min). Negative marking: 1/4 mark per wrong answer. Minimum aggregate qualifying marks decided by Bank. SBI Trained Apprentices get 2.5% bonus marks (5 marks) added to final score.
  • Phase-III: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) — Conducted after Mains qualification, before joining. Only for candidates not having studied specified local language in 10th/12th. Test Pattern: Non-Verbal Test (Objective + Subjective, 30 marks) + Verbal Test (20 marks). Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks in individual tests. Failure in LLPT = No appointment.
  • Final Merit List Preparation: Merit list drawn state-wise, category-wise. Based on Main exam aggregate marks only (Prelims marks not carried forward).
  • Document Verification & Medical Exam: After provisional selection, candidates must clear DV and medical fitness exam as per SBI standards.
  • Probation Period: Selected candidates on probation for minimum 6 months. Must complete e-lessons prescribed by Bank for confirmation.
