Nationality & Domicile

• Candidate must be a citizen of India (Nepalese citizens are also eligible subject to the certificate required under MP Civil Service Recruitment Rules, 1961)
• Candidate must be a permanent resident (domicile) of Madhya Pradesh — this is compulsory for the Patwari post
• Candidates who are not permanent residents of MP may apply only against Unreserved/Open vacancies and will not get any benefit of reservation or age relaxation
• Candidate must have a live registration with an MP State Employment Office

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age (General/Open, MP Domicile): 40 Years
• Maximum Age (SC/ST/OBC, Government/Corporation Employees, Women, Ex-Servicemen, Divyangjan of MP): 45 Years
• Age is calculated as on 01 January 2026 for MP permanent residents
• Under no circumstances (combining all relaxations) can the maximum age exceed 45 years, except for specific categories mentioned in the rulebook (contract employees, surplus staff, etc., up to 55 years)

MP Patwari Vacancy 2026 — District-Wise Break-Up (44 Districts)

Reservation Applicable

• Vertical Reservation: ST — 20%, SC — 16%, OBC — 27% (sub judice/subject to court order), EWS — 10%
• Horizontal Reservation: Women — 35% of all direct recruitment posts (department/category-wise); Divyangjan — 6% overall (1.5% each for VH, EH, LD, MD categories — but for Patwari, since all 200 posts are already Divyang-exclusive, the 6% Divyang horizontal reservation is applied within this drive itself: EH, LD and MD candidates only)
• Ex-Servicemen (MP): 10% horizontal reservation on Class-III posts
• At district level, the district-wise reservation roster issued by the General Administration Department applies
• A reserved-category candidate who qualifies on their own merit in the unreserved list is counted in the unreserved category and not adjusted against their own reserved quota

Selection Process 2026

• Stage 1: Online Computer-Based Written Examination (CBT) — 200 Marks, conducted by MPESB
• Stage 2: Merit List Preparation — Based on Normalised Percentile Score of the written exam
• Stage 3: Document Verification — By a District-Level Document Verification Committee in the allotted district
• Stage 4: Medical/Disability Certificate Verification — By the District/Divisional Medical Board
• Stage 5: Single-Round Counselling & District Allotment — Based on the merit list and district preference submitted in the application (only one round of counselling is held; no re-counselling for vacant seats)

Important Points

• Minimum qualifying marks: 40% for Unreserved candidates, 40% with a 10% relaxation (i.e., effectively 30%) for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Divyang candidates
• Only candidates in the qualifying list are eligible; qualifying does NOT guarantee appointment — it depends on actual vacancy demand from the department
• Patwari is a district-level cadre post; the district allotted in the first counselling is final
• No candidate will be posted in their own home tehsil
• A waitlist of 15% of available posts is prepared, valid for one year or until the next exam result, whichever is earlier

How to Apply Online for MP Patwari Recruitment 2026

• Visit the official MPESB portal — esb.mponline.gov.in (or esb.mp.gov.in for the notification)
• Find and click on the link for “Group-2 Sub Group-4 Combined Recruitment Examination 2026 (Patwari – Divyang Category)”
• Read the complete Rulebook (नियम पुस्तिका) carefully before starting the application
• Click on “New Registration” and enter basic details — name, mobile number, email ID — to generate your registration ID and password
• Log in again with the credentials received via SMS/email and fill in the complete application form
• Enter educational qualification, disability category, CPCT score details (if available), and category/domicile details
• Mark your district preferences carefully in order — this cannot be changed after submission
• Upload the required documents (photograph, signature, disability certificate, category/domicile certificate as applicable) in the prescribed format and size
• Verify all entered details thoroughly — corrections are allowed only during the edit window (04–23 August 2026)
• Pay the applicable application fee plus MP Online portal charges through the payment gateway

Application Correction Window — What Can Be Changed?

• Correction window available: 04 August 2026 to 23 August 2026
• Candidates can correct minor details such as address, contact details, and uploaded documents during this period
• Cannot be changed after submission: Date of Birth once entered, and District Preference Order once submitted
• Use the correction window carefully, as MPESB will not entertain any correspondence regarding data-entry errors after the window closes

• Balance both parts equally — Part-A and Part-B carry 100 marks each, so don’t over-focus on just one section
• General Knowledge: Prioritise Madhya Pradesh-specific GK — districts, rivers, schemes (like PM-Kisan, revenue-related schemes), history and culture, since state GK carries strong weightage
• Mathematics & Reasoning: Practice basic arithmetic and logical reasoning daily — these sections reward speed and accuracy
• Computer Knowledge: Revise CPCT-level computer basics since this also helps clear the mandatory CPCT exam
