How to Check UPSC IES/ISS Result 2026

• Visit the official UPSC website — upsc.gov.in
• Go to the “Written Results” section and locate the IES/ISS Examination 2026 result notice dated 4 August 2026
• Open the relevant PDF — separate PDFs are issued for the IES list and the ISS list
• Use Ctrl+F (or the PDF search function) to locate your roll number or name in the list
• Save/download the PDF for your records and take a printout for future reference

Mandatory Next Step — 15-Day Portal Login & Document Update Window

All candidates who have qualified for the Personality Test must complete the following within the 15-day window after result declaration, as per Rule 4.1(2) of the IES/ISS Examination Rules, 2026:

• Mandatorily log in to upsconline.nic.in during the 15-day window (closing on or around 19 August 2026)
• Update educational qualification status (appearing/appeared) and upload proof of passing the qualifying examination
• Update, where applicable: correspondence/permanent postal address, higher educational qualification, achievements, employment/service experience, details of any previously allocated IES/ISS service, marital status, PwBD recommendation details, parental details, debarment information, earlier examination details, OBC/EWS annexure, and the socio-economic questionnaire
• Candidates who have already uploaded all required documents/information earlier and have nothing new to update must still log in and finally submit after verifying details, in order to generate the e-Summon Letter for the Personality Test
• Failure to complete this login and submission within the window means the candidate will not be allowed to participate in further stages, and no correspondence will be entertained by the Commission on this

UPSC IES/ISS 2026 Selection Process — Full Picture

• Stage 1 — Written Examination: 1000 Marks (6 papers covering General English, General Studies, and four subject-specific papers in Economics/Statistics) — completed; result declared 4 August 2026
• Stage 2 — Personality Test / Interview: 200 Marks — assesses subject knowledge, communication skills, and overall suitability for the service
• Final Merit List: Prepared out of a combined 1200 Marks (Written 1000 + Interview 200)
• Document Verification & Medical Examination: Final appointment is subject to verification of original documents and medical fitness as prescribed

UPSC IES/ISS Written Exam Pattern 2026 (Recap)

Documents Required at the Time of Interview

• Proof of age/date of birth
• Proof of educational qualification (Post-Graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics for IES; Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with Statistics for ISS)
• Community certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS), where applicable
• Benchmark disability (PwBD) certificate, where applicable
• Any other document/annexure as specified in the e-Summon Letter

Note: Candidates must carry original certificates in support of their claims. Candidates are solely responsible for producing sufficient proof; failure to bring required originals means the candidate will not be permitted to appear before the Personality Test Board, and no TA will be paid.

IES/ISS Salary & Career After Selection

• Newly recruited IES/ISS officers are placed at Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix, with a starting basic pay of approximately ₹56,100/- per month
• Approximate gross monthly salary (with allowances such as HRA, DA, TA) ranges around ₹75,000 – ₹1,10,000, depending on posting location
• It is a permanent, Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer post under the Government of India
• IES officers typically work in ministries such as Finance, Commerce, Agriculture, Health, and NITI Aayog on economic policy, research, budgeting, and programme evaluation
• ISS officers work in statistical and data-related roles across ministries and departments including the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI)
• With seniority, officers can rise up to Higher Administrative Grade+ (HAG+), with pay going up to a fixed ₹80,000/- per month at senior levels

How to Download the Marks-Sheet

• Marks-sheets for IES/ISS are released only after the final result (post-interview), not at the written-result stage
• Once released, marks-sheets can be accessed online using Roll Number and Date of Birth on the official UPSC website
• The marks-sheet remains available for download only within a limited window — typically 30 days from the date of upload — so candidates should download and save a copy promptly once released

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Qualification for the Personality Test is provisional, subject to candidates being found eligible in all respects
• Keep all original certificates ready in advance and check certificate requirements on the UPSC website before appearing for the interview
• No request for change in the date/time of the Personality Test will ordinarily be entertained under any circumstances
• Mobile phones are banned inside UPSC examination hall campuses and are also generally not permitted at the interview venue
