KEA vs MCC — Understanding the Two Separate Tracks

  • KEA handles 85% state quota seats for Karnataka-domiciled candidates across Government, Private, and Minority institutions
  • The remaining 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in Government colleges are filled separately through MCC counselling (mcc.nic.in) — Deemed Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, AFMC, and ESIC institutes are filled 100% by MCC and are NOT part of KEA’s state list
  • KEA registration does not carry over to MCC, and vice versa — candidates interested in both tracks must register separately on each portal

Documents Required for Counselling

  • NEET UG 2026 Score Card and Admit Card
  • Karnataka NEET Score List Reference (printout/screenshot)
  • KEA Application Form
  • Class 10 Certificate and Class 12 Mark Sheet
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC, if applicable, valid for Karnataka)
  • Income Certificate (if applicable, for fee concession/reservation benefits)
  • Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card)
  • Passport-size Photographs

What If Your Name Is Missing From the Score List?

  • If your name doesn’t appear, it may mean you did not select Karnataka in your NTA NEET application, or your domicile/eligibility criteria were not met at the time of registration
  • Immediately verify whether you completed your KEA UGNEET registration correctly — either as a fresh applicant or by linking to your existing UGCET application
  • Report any discrepancy to KEA immediately rather than waiting, since correction windows for such issues tend to be short
  • Double-check that you haven’t simply missed the roll number linking step, which is separate from appearing in the score list itself
