1. Does qualifying the PMT/PET merit list mean I have been selected for the job?

No. The publication of the PMT/PET merit list does not mean that the recruitment process has been completed. It only confirms that you have successfully cleared the physical standards and efficiency tests required for your post. Candidates whose names appear in the result PDF must still participate in Document Verification (DV), where educational qualifications, reservation certificates, identity documents, domicile, and other eligibility conditions will be verified. After DV, candidates must also clear the prescribed medical examination. The final appointment list will be prepared only after successfully completing every stage of the recruitment process and subject to post-wise and category-wise vacancies.

2. Why did PSSSB release the Jail Warder, Matron, and Assistant Superintendent results on different dates?

PSSSB adopted a phased result declaration process to complete the recruitment efficiently. Since the number of applicants, physical test schedules, and verification procedures differed across the three posts, the Board announced the Jail Warder PMT/PET result first, while the Matron and Assistant Superintendent merit lists were published after completing the remaining evaluation process. Although the dates were different, all the results belong to the same recruitment notification (Advertisement No. 07 of 2025). Candidates should therefore ensure they download the PDF corresponding to the post for which they applied.

3. What documents should shortlisted candidates start arranging before the Document Verification process?

Candidates should begin collecting all original documents immediately instead of waiting for the DV schedule. These generally include educational qualification certificates, Punjab domicile certificate, category certificate (if applicable), Aadhaar Card or another valid identity proof, written examination admit card, PMT/PET result printout, passport-size photographs, and any additional documents claimed during the online application. Those applying under reserved categories such as Ex-Servicemen or EWS should also keep the relevant supporting certificates ready. Carrying incomplete or incorrect documents during verification may delay or even affect candidature.

4. If my roll number is missing from the result PDF despite qualifying the physical test, what should I do?

Candidates who believe there is an error in the published result should first carefully verify that they are checking the correct PDF for their respective post and advertisement number. If the issue still exists, they should immediately contact the PSSSB Helpdesk with supporting documents such as their application details, roll number, admit card, and proof of participation in the PMT/PET. Delaying the complaint could reduce the chances of timely correction before the next recruitment stage begins. Candidates should rely only on official communication issued by PSSSB regarding any discrepancy.

5. What are the next stages after the PMT/PET result in the PSSSB Jail Department recruitment?

After the PMT/PET merit list, PSSSB will announce the Document Verification schedule, followed by a Medical Examination for eligible candidates. During these stages, the Board will verify eligibility, educational qualifications, reservation claims, physical fitness, and other recruitment conditions. Once all formalities are completed, PSSSB will prepare the final selection list according to the written examination performance, successful completion of PMT/PET, verification of original documents, medical fitness, and category-wise merit. Candidates who successfully clear every stage will receive appointment recommendations for the Punjab Jail Department as per the available vacancies.
